Hello everyone,
I've been reading a lot of comments on the internet lately and everyone is trying to take credit for these Tea Parties. I remember that we had some Tea Parties during the Ron Paul Campaign...I even remember him throwing barrells off a pier. This current wave of Tea Parties, however, was started in reaction to Rick Santelli's rant on CNBC were they not ?

Its more confused than that. Rick Santelli was a Ron Paul supporter.

Also a lot of other financial pundits were muttering about a tea party and other things.

Its more a stretch back to find a solution that has previously worked when government got this bad.

Rick Santelli was a Ron Paul supporter.

Rick Santelli said that he voted for McCain, but he opposed all the bailouts and expressed support for Ron Paul on CNBC, so I guess that he voted for McCain as the lesser evil.

Ron Paul Supporters!

I do not believe that Santelli all of a sudden thought back to the concept of a tea party, without influence.

Rick Santelli was probably the most consistently supportive pundit by a long shot.

All our ideas etc taken.

The "Chicago" Tea parties etc - are all a crock of shit. False neo-con scum.... co-opting the movement. It has been essentially advertised on Fox News...

Think of it this way...

The "left": - ANTI WAR PROTESTS
The "right": - TAX REVOLT PROTESTS

The 8 years the anti-status quo channels where on air against Bush... (basically his entire last term, they were Olbermann, every man and his dog et all) - the WHOLE 'left wing' movement...

WHAT did they accomplish? WHAT did they CHANGE?

= Nothing.

Not, a, thing. Why? Because all the retards filtered into the Democratic party and voted for Obama.

What's the future hold?

Don't let history repeat itself.

Started in Boston 230 years ago then some folks up in Seattle Washington did it a few weeks ago and now it's everywhere.

The Left are blaming Newt Gingrich, lol

I think you're right. Because the tea parties were against the Obama administrations plans.

Rick Santelli helped start this fire on Feb. 19th 2009. Watch this video pay attention at the 2:10 mark until the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEZB4taSEoA

It appears that this round was inspired by Rick Santelli. Facebook groups asking people to protest sprouted up minutes after his appearance. The Santelli video went viral on youtube and currently has over 1 million views. After this, many members of freedomworks.org asked freedomworks to participate. Not even two days later iamwithrick.com was created on behalf of freedomworks.org on either the 20th or 21st of February. Going to the website sent you straight to a freedomworks web page which was then acting as a central hub for any and all tea party events on February 27th 2009, 8 Days after Rick's speech. Since then the tea parties have exploded and freedomworks has not been the only centralized location but one of many. The Ron Paul grassroots play in this seems to be that we started it earlier, 2 years earlier. Inspiried by the Boston Tea Party, the same thing that inspired Rick Santelli. Unless Rick Santelli heard or was inspired by the Ron Paul tea parties, which I haven't heard him say, "we" aren't responsible for starting the fire. Santelli created a fire as "we" did, so two fires created for similar reasons combined for an inferno if you will.

Rick Santelli on Ron Paul (kind of... okay not really, but he mentions him) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAlACZtfnb8&feature=player_embedded

Does it really REALLY matter other than to serve someone's ego? Not that an ego is necessarily a bad thing. I prefer instead to bask in the (if somewhat muted glow) that the Tea Party ideas gained this much momentum, even if it isn't the all out refusal to pay I would be delighted to see.

who gives a flying rats ass who started the shit? The grassroots is not some organization that is going to come out and take credit. grassroots can only be given credit or have credit taken away from it. Anyone who cares about who gets the credit is looking at the wrong damn thing.

Who cares who started it. Round up as many Ron Paul people as you can and take over the place and try to get speaking spots.

Seems like an opportunity to grow our numbers.

It was me...I was on a conference call with a bunch of Ron Paul supporters and people were suggesting things to do as a group. Most were talking about going to a bar or having a cookout...

I said...hey, how about a Tea Party. I love tea and thought that everyone could bring their own variety and we could sip on some tea and crumpets.

Unfortunately they took me out of context and started protests all across the country. Leaving me with a whole lot more tea than I really need.

The idea for a 21st century tea party was 100% stolen and co-opted from the Ron Paul 2007 grassroots.

I was at a tea party on dec 16th, 2007.
