"[Ron Paul] got [his position on the Fed] from me."

I think he was joking, but he now passes the "does he want to get rid of the Fed test". He's also says he's willing to go back to gold standard or something similar.

Oh my gosh, this guy has been all over, saying all kinds of stuff. Though he has at various times supported some of our ideas, he lacks a core philosophy and his views aren't consistent. I'm religious, but I whenever I read the things he says, it sounds like rhetoric designed to grab the religious vote, without even understanding the religions, and gives us a bad name.

Apparently, he supported the Iraq war, a variety of other unconstitutional things, and his "views" are all over the place. Just check out his On The Issues (http://www.ontheissues.org/Alan_Keyes.htm) page.

If I recall, he went against Baldwin for the Constitution Party nomination, and was opposed by constitutional stalwarts like Howard Philips. He's cycled through a bunch of different parties. Although I know some would disagree with me, I believe as much as our opponents control the Republican and Democratic parties, they would like to take the helm and misdirect third parties as well - Baldwin vs. Keyes in Constitution Party, and Ruwart vs. Barr for Libartarian Party 2008. The CP made what I consider the right choice, but I wasn't confident in the LP's choice of Barr.

I feel fairly strongly about this, because Keyes has ingratiated himself in various religious circles - ie. anti-abortion "with exceptions" - it has to be either a life or it isn't, pick one and stick with your principles, Mr. Keyes.

Seems pretty obvious that he was joking, RP had the same platform while in Congress since the 1970s, and Keyes wasn't around in the 1970s.
Also, he seems to be surrounded by RP supporters (holding H.R. 1207 signs).

So, let me get this straight Alan Keyes taught Ron Paul everything he knows about montary policy when he was in his early 20's shacked up in a dorm room with Bill Kristol and not even in politics? Seriously?

BWAHAHAHAHA Alan Keyes is a funny guy.

that is all

I think Alan Keyes is part of the controlled opposition.
He was ambassador to the UN.
He is constantly popping up to fractionalize the true conservative vote.
He never really gains support, and if he does, he quickly loses it by saying something stupid.
He doesn't go away.

Keyes is garbage.

He's a huge war monger that justifies it with a dab of christians versus muslims.

Alan Keyes is a jackass, but has anyone noticed that it's become trendy to be anti-Federal Reserve lately? I post at another board that's full of socialists and almost all of them are dead against the Fed. Of course they want to give the power of currency control to congress, as long as congress is full of socialists...but at least they are paying attention to money when they hadn't in the past.

Keyes: making a living from running for office since the 1990s.

Has he ever even won anything? Has he ever paid back the debts from his presidential campaign in 2000?

His only consistent philosophy is pandering to money.

didn't look like he was joking to me. But I don't think it's a big deal cause I really don't care that he said that 'cept that it's funny!
