I've been researching this for a while, and I'm going to share this with all of you, since you can fact-check it, and tell me if I'm crazy or going in the wrong direction.

This DOES belong here in general politics (in the very broadest sense), and once you go out and research this with the links here I think you'll agree this is no conspiracy theory. Hell, this isn't even a coincidence theory. This is a crash course in modern global politics, which will explain in part how we came to our current situation.

If the economic crisis is not a planned collapse in order to install a global government, it is the failure of a progressive global social agenda that has consistently ignored free market economics in favour of state control. In either case, I think that we are not seeing the beginning of a new political paradigm - I think we are seeing the end of one, with liberty beckoning beyond it. Suffice to say, I doubt that the old order will surrender power easily, and that my genuine concern is we will be seeing totalitarianism in our time.

The way that I came upon all this was by looking at commonalities between governments in the US, the EU and beyond.

First question: What is the Third Way?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Way_(centrism)

The Third Way is a term that has been used to describe a variety of political philosophies of governance that embrace a mix of market and interventionist philosophies. Third Way approaches are commonly viewed as representing a centrist compromise between capitalism and socialism, or between market liberalism and democratic socialism. However, proponents of third way philosophies often claim that the third way represents a synthesis of these competing viewpoints, distinct from and superior to both of its sources, rather than simply a compromise or mixture. This claim is embodied in the alternative description of the Third Way as the Radical center.

Past invocations of a political 'third way', in this sense, have included the Fabian Socialism, Distributism, Keynesian economics, Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, and Harold Macmillan's 1950s One Nation Conservatism. A "Third Way" approach has been adopted by social liberals and some social democrats in many Western liberal democracies.

Third Way policies were enacted in the 1980s in Australia by the Hawke/Keating Labor governments. The most recent prominent examples are the Obama and Clinton Administrations in the United States as well as presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, the Labour Party (New Labour) governments of the United Kingdom under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, the Liberal Party government of Canada under Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin, the Australian Labor Party under Kevin Rudd the Polder Model in The Netherlands, the Democratic Party - demokraci.pl in Poland and the previous Labour government in New Zealand, led by incoming UNDP Administrator Helen Clark.

The Third Way rejects both socialism and laissez-faire approaches to economic governance, but chiefly stresses technological development, education, and competitive mechanisms to pursue economic progress and governmental objectives. One of its central aims is to protect the modern welfare state through reforms that maintain its economic integrity.

The third way has been criticized by some conservatives and libertarians who advocate laissez-faire capitalism. It has also been heavily criticized by many social democrats and democratic socialists in particular as a betrayal of left-wing values. The third way policies differ considerably between Europe and America, in America the third way refers to significantly more right-wing and laissez-faire policies than in Europe.

Not too difficult to see how this has come to dominate American and European politics - indeed, global politics - and play a huge part in the formation of the European Union.

Second question: how is this connected to Fascism?

A number of fascist movements described themselves a "third force" that was outside the traditional political spectrum altogether. Many scholars accept fascism as a search for a third way between capitalism and communism. Roger Griffin argued, "Not only does the location of fascism within the right pose taxonomic problems, there are good ground for cutting this particular Gordian knot altogether by placing it in a category of its own "beyond left and right." Sir Oswald Mosley, leader of the British Union of Fascists, described his position as "hard centre" in the political spectrum. Spanish Falangist leader José Antonio Primo de Rivera was critical of both left-wing and right-wing politics, once saying that "basically the Right stands for the maintenance of an economic structure, albeit an unjust one, while the Left stands for the attempt to subvert that economic structure, even though the subversion thereof would entail the destruction of much that was worthwhile". Seymour Martin Lipset sees fascism as "extremism of the center". In some two dimensional political models, such as the Political Compass (where left and right are described in purely economic terms), fascism is ascribed to the economic centre with its extremism expressing itself on the authoritarianism axis instead.

This also leads us to examine "the third position":

Third Position is a nationalist political strand that emphasises its opposition to both communism and capitalism. Advocates of third position views present themselves as neither left nor right.

Third question: How does it factor into the current Administration?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Party_(USA)

The New Party was a third political party in the United States that tried to re-introduce the practice of electoral fusion as a political strategy for labor unions and community organizing groups. In electoral fusion, the same candidate receives nomination from more than one political party and occupies more than one ballot line. Fusion was once common in the United States but is now commonly practiced only in New York State, although it is allowed by law in seven other states.

The New Party was a radical left organization, established in 1992, to amalgamate far left groups and push the United States into socialism by forcing the Democratic Party to the left. It was an attempt to regroup the forces on the left in a new strategy to take power, burrowing from within. The party only lasted until 1998, when its strategy of "fusion" failed to withstand a Supreme Court ruling. But dissolving the party didn't stop the membership, including Barack Obama, from continuing to move the Democrats leftward with spectacular success.

In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as the Chicago "New Party". The 'New Party' was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards. The admittedly Socialist Organization experienced a moderate rise in numbers between 1995 and 1999. By 1999, however, the Socialist 'New Party' was essentially defunct after losing a supreme court challenge that ruled the organizations "fusion" reform platform as unconstitutional.

Janet Napolitano and the New Third Way

Arizona's governor has contained Republicans, reinvigorated Democrats, and provided a new model for progressive politics in the West.

And now, thanks to Janet Napolitano, head of Homeland Security, we have "fusion centers" busily branding those who support the Constitution as potential enemies of the state.

A ‘Third Way’ for Arne Duncan?
Let’s be realistic about the federal role in school reform.

Last question: How does this affect other governments?

To answer that, I'm going to have to give you some links to check out. Do not take my word for it - go research this for yourselves, form your own opinion.

One of the early promises of the Third Way - before it collapsed back to a rebranded social democracy - was that it offered new ways of achieving social justice without relying on a large, centralised state levying ever-higher taxes.

Third Way is a non-profit, non-partisan think tank. We are advancing a 21st century progressive agenda by working with elected officials, candidates, and advocates to create policies and market those ideas in the public debate. Since our launch in January 2005, Third Way’s work on security, economics and culture has been used widely by progressive leaders and our impact noted extensively in the national media, including in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, Newsweek and on the NBC Evening News, The Today Show, Good Morning America, NPR and dozens of other outlets.

Please note that the President of Third Way, Jon Cowan, is also president of Americans for Gun Safety. Can't guess what their agenda includes...

Prior to his appointment as Cabinet Secretary in July 1997, Mr. Marshall was the Director of Legislative Affairs and Deputy Counsel for Vice President Al Gore. He managed all of the Vice President’s legislative activities, held a position on the Senate leadership staff, and played a leading role on a wide range of legislative priorities throughout the first term of the Clinton Administration.

The key to social harmony and progress, according to the general, was the idea of “participation”, where employees should be given a greater say in the running of their companies – and a greater share of the profits. De Gaulle saw this as a way of curbing the excesses of capitalism without the rigidities of socialism, a sort of early “third way” between left and right.

Today the European Parliament overwhelmingly voted in favour of the Morgan report on the internal electricity market, positioning it in favour of full separation of production and distribution of electricity. It therefore emphatically rejected the Franco-German "third way" proposal.

Greens energy spokesperson Rebecca Harms commented:

"The European Parliament has overwhelmingly come out against the so-called Merkel-Sarkozy "third way", designed to protect the interests of French and German energy giants whose profits have soared at the cost of escalating bills for consumers.

Leon Fuerth, former National Security Advisor to Vice President Al Gore: "Professor Etzioni's new book From Empire to Community, delivers on its promise of 'A new approach to international relations.' ... This book is not about dogma: it is about the hopeful possibility that an evolving and expanding sense of common need among peoples and nations can with luck and vision, bring about a knitting together of a form of global governance that would permit humankind to address its most urgent issues more effectively: with less sovereign authority for national states as we have known them, but greater freedom, combined with enhanced responsibility for people as individuals and as communities."

Hillary Clinton and "The Third Way" How America's First Lady of the Left Has Bamboozled Liberals and Conservatives Alike

In his inaugural speech as new African Union (AU) chairman, Libya’s leader Muammar Gaddafi said that multi-party democracy in Africa leads to bloodshed. Speaking at the AU summit in Ethiopia, Col Gaddafi said Africa was essentially tribal and political parties became inevitably tribalized, which he said led to bloodshed. He concluded the best model for Africa was to be found in his own country, where opposition parties are not allowed and he had served as erratic autocrat for nearly forty years.

Col Gaddafi has been making pronouncements to this effect for as long as anyone can remember. In the heat of the Cold War, he even propounded this in the so-called Green Book which claimed to have invented a Third Way that was different from the advertised models of both warring parties.

And here is that Green Book. Reading it, there is absolutely no disguising what the Third Way is.

So Bush, Blair, Brown, the Clintons, Bersculoni, Merkel, Sarkozy, Obama and who knows how many more current politicians ALL have the same political philosophy, which under examination is literally descended from fascism. This transcends parties, factions and nationalities, across the UK, US, EU and AU; even politicians and statesmen who appear in the mainstream media as bitter rivals subscribe to the same statist/globalist worldview.

And now they're all talking about a global government...

So tell me - does this put all the "rumours" of a fascist global conspiracy into perspective for anyone?

Basically, if there is a public political face to what is termed by "conspiracy theorists" as "the New World Order" this would be it. And when you take into consideration that some of these people are openly arguing for population reduction to "save the earth", those "theories" take on a whole new meaning.
