edit: i mustve misunderstood the good doc. i think he meant the media painted goldwater as the prowar candidate while making lbj look like the propeace guy. ofcourse lbj was running on his predecessors reputation as a propeace guy
heres a goldwater tv ad against the vietnam war thanks objectivist

fearmongering ad by the lying LBJ linking Goldwater to a nuclear war and holocaust thanks again objectivist

this stuck in my head after hearing Dr Pauls C4L Missouri speech. he said something like Goldwater was the prowar candidate while LBJ presented himself as the peace candidate and the peace candidate ofcourse won. thought i would share it since its very similar to a recent election
heres part1 youl find the full video of the speech here
http://www.youtube.com/user/AMERpowerICANS

i also think this makes clear that Ron Paul is closer to Taft than BGW

Goldwater was anti-Vietnam, and pro-Cold War. Johnson didn't bring up the Vietnam issue much, or at least he didn't have bumper stickers that said "vote LBJ, he'll kill the Vietcong," but he did have the famous atomic bomb commercial basically saying that Goldwater's radical pro-capitalist, anti-communist platform would descend the World into nuclear war. That is partially a reason why he won, but Goldwater still did push back with commercials about how he would have ended involvement in Vietnam.

No, I'm 16, I just know my history, especially anything to do with Goldwater, and American History overall.

Imagine if by some sheer chance, Goldwater became president in 1964. He likely would have been assassinated. Just like Paul would if he somehow became president. There's little doubt in my mind.

Goldwater openly spoke against Rockefeller and the CFR and the trilateral commission. ofcourse if you say those kind of things today they call you a conspiracy nut. but yes i agree he probably wouldve suffered an "accident" if he was elected. maybe he was even threatened you never know

That's the commercial I was talking about. The earlier one is the one he pushed back with, if I remember correctly.

LBJ was known for playing dirty pool and winning at any cost. Personally I never saw Goldwater play that cutthroat BS and that is why I admire him. He could argue a point and use facts to back up his statements.

Then like myself he loved freedom and understood the power freedom holds for the masses.
