I'm trying to get a certain media person to highlight this fact, but they want documentation. I simply don't have the time to do the in-depth research and find the smoking gun.

Ron Paul and others have alluded to the fact that it is a UN ban on merchant ships that should be repealed to allow the ship crews to defend themselves from pirates.

I have see that the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has "discouraged" and "recommended" against ships carrying weapons. I also have uncovered that if merchant ships were to carry weapons there would be tons of red tape to deal with then docking in countries that ban firearms, which are most countries.

But I have no proof of a ban. No proof the decision isn't voluntary compliance by shipping companies.

This is where I need your help. We need to uncover this little-known fact and then spread it virally!

I ask you all because I know this crowd can make this happen!

Thanks!

LOST has yet to be ratified by the US.

As far as what other nations have signed on, I'm not sure.
