Here is my response,
There will always be crazy people.
IMO your position on this issue sounds a lot like the arguments that support gun restricting legislation as a solution to lowering gun violence.
Where I instead am a firm believer that we would all be a lot better off if every state was like Texas when it comes to "gun control".
Blaming violet video games for school shootings is retarded.
Blaming Glen Beck for some dude's actions that were influenced by years of misguided reading of Alex Jones material is retarded.
Alex Jones is the guy talking about how Michelle Obama is flashing satanic symbols while at the same time releasing legitimate material like the MIAC report leak.
I personally hate Alex Jones for this very reason. He mixes legitimate with ridiculous and therefore destroys the credibility of the legitimate.
I don't even like Glen Beck and there have been a lot of heated arguments in the Ron Paul crowd recently debating if he does more harm than good to the "liberty" movement and the strong majority of Ron Paul supporters have come out against him. I strongly disagree with putting Glen Beck into the same category as Alex Jones. When Glen Beck starts talking about how the Obama's are possessed by the devil please let me know.
In the end everyone has the right to go to whatever websites they want and research any so called "conspiracies". If this leads to that person killing cops then it's pretty obvious the guy was unstable anyway. There are hundreds of white supremacist websites that promote violence against all types of people, should the government take away their first amendment rights because there is the possibility that a nutjob might go to those sites and then do something nutty?
Your thoughts?
