This guy first gained my attention when he was one of the people leading the effort against Bush's bailouts and the GM rescues. He is the most fiscally conservative person I have seen aside from Ron Paul. He was reelected to the 5th district with an amazing 83 percent of the vote. Incredibly well spoken this guy in my opinion should be green lighted straight to the top. I particularly liked when he told the CEOs of the big three that $50 billion would have been enough for 2 million small businesses capitalized at $25,000. Why don't I hear more about him especially in forums like this?

"A December 31, 2005 article in National Review profiled his work as the country's "budget nanny", saying that he has replaced his mentor, former Senator Phil Gramm, in this role. Hensarling's proposed legislation is said to intend to force Congress to "decide how much money they can afford to spend, and then prioritize within those limits." The article says that "the chief problem with any proposal to reform the budget process is that it excites almost nobody."

I haven't heard of him before either, and I don't know why we haven't. But I do know enough about the media to believe that the fact that we haven't heard of him is a very, very good sign.

I'll check into him. Thanks!
