Looks like Schiff misunderstood the incident in the St. Louis airport in which Schiff said that Steve, the CampaignForLiberty guy, was carrying $6,500 and he was taken to the police station.

Steve was carrying $4,700 and he was taken into a private screening room within the airport where all the questioning took place. The airport police were going to take him to the police station but as they were doing that another cop showed up, asked if the money was for campaign contributions, Steve said yes and then the cop said he was free to go. Steve actually managed to catch his flight and obviously he wouldn't have been able to catch that flight had he been taken to the police station.
