In a little noticed editorial yesterday, Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul fired a shot across the bow of every progressive activist in the U.S., a great many of whom are supporters of President Barack Obama.

Oh, you didn't hear about this? I couldn't be any less surprised.

I am a US armed forces veteran. I served 4yrs, sixteen moths of that in Afghanistan on the Paki border. I am a patriot, and I support Ron Paul wholeheartedly. We will never see a libertarian, or constitutional government in our time. We have let the country be raped by corporations and become a consumer based slothful society. As long as the people can still watch American Idol, and Rock of Love then they don't have much need to involve themselves in government. As long as we have unconstitutional laws that imprison those practicing free will and hurting no one, the population of opposition to the mainstream dwindles in voting ranks. This leaves the narrow minded majority to create the future. It's a government fueled by money, lobbying, and religion. We can't even trust state government, how can we trust the federal government. We are weakening. On the brink of nuclear extinction, we are still stirring our bloody stumps in the middle east. As the Chinese rise above us like a red dragon, their tail slips underneath ready to strike. Our debt, our ignorance, and our pride will destroy us. Redemption is not possible. We will stew and stir in our self destruction while the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.
