Love the Global warming agenda is still live and well with some MSM networks playing the sicking commercials claiming all this BS about a warming planet. Caveat: Single weather events do not determine long term trends.

Whether we are entering a time of climate change (as compared to the last couple hundred years of recorded weather) isn't debated. What is up to debate is:

1) the severity and type of the changes
2) whether human activity is a leading or contributing factor in the change
3) whether human activity can change the current trend
4) whether governments should be the impetus for this change, or people, if it is indeed needed.

Most people that are up at arms about climate change jump immediately to the Fourth question, and don't look at the prerequisite questions, they just demand that the governments take action because that's where they've been taught to go to affect change - the coercive power of the state.

Whether anyone buys into climate change is their personal belief choice, and I am not going to hamper that. We need to focus on telling these people to be responsible for themselves, to look at what companies they think are polluters and not fund them, to choose 'green' options for themselves. We need to get people to stop expecting to use governmental power to get their own way imposed on all others, not belittle what they believe.

Whether you think the world is fine, or it is warming out of control: the solution is up to you, not the government. If the solution you have in mind requires the cooperation of a large group of people, you better begin to convince people they should help - not lobby the government to force them to help.

It's Global cooling, the coming Ice Age.
They warned about this when I was in school.

It was 37 deg F yesterday in Beaumont (34 at my home), 22 deg F below average, and tying a record low set in (...wait for it...) 2007. Yep, the two coldest Aprils on record in Southeast Texas were in the last 3 years.

If this is a part of a long-term cooling trend, it's really going to hurt the prosperity of a lot of developing countries that have had record growth due to record crop production over the past 20 years. The best thing for the poor would be for global warming to be real.

I couldn't agree more, the cold sucks too! Also the wind with 30F temps isn't fun on the train platform. :(

Real irony is that back in Oct, 2008, there was a "global warming" conference in London, England and snow fell for the first time in the month of October since the 1920s or something.

After cutting a big tree down they studied the rings and behold there were fluctuations, between hot and cold for hundreds of years.

The good thing is that the global warming consensus in the general public is falling apart now.
