Mods: Didn't know where to put this, so I put it here for attention. Feel free to move.

For anyone who was remotely interested in going to the New York City End the Fed on April 25th, 2009, a few RPF'ers were collaborating in the chatroom and have decided to have a little Ron Paul Forum Meetup...

We will meet...

... at the corner of Church and Liberty street, across from Brooks Brothers in the little square at 10:30AM (Trinity Plaza). This will give us some time to take pictures, introduce ourselves, socialize, etc.

Here is the street view: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=church+and+liberty+street,+nyc&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=38.281301,93.164063&ie=UTF8&ll=40.709597,-74.011481&spn=0.008962,0.022745&z=16&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=40.70955,-74.011372&panoid=F09HzJsT_UbEQhODC3fAMw&cbp=12,34.38679245283017,,0,10.603773584905653

The square: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=church+and+liberty+street,+nyc&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=38.281301,93.164063&ie=UTF8&ll=40.709597,-74.011481&spn=0.008962,0.022745&z=16&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=40.70955,-74.011372&panoid=F09HzJsT_UbEQhODC3fAMw&cbp=12,158.51886792452837,,0,13.150943396226408

For those coming in a little earlier, some of us will meet in the Burger King by the square around 10:00AM. We will still meet in the square around 10:30.

http://maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox-a&channel=s&hl=en&q=church+and+liberty+st,+nyc&ie=UTF8&split=0&gl=us&ei=D6fwSYewF5_WygWU3d3CDA&z=16&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=40.709705,-74.011688&panoid=CDKLLoabvpWutMVAILzHvw&cbp=12,257.94339622641513,,0,-3.405660377358492

The weather...

... is going to be around 80 degrees, partly sunny or sunny... so bring sunscreen and water if you need it (or stop by burger king to grab something).

Travel...

Some of us are going by train the Grand Central Station, or to New York Penn Station. If anyone is also going to these stations, PM me and I will alert the other RPF'ers who are also going to be there.

Should we plan around this? :

The March and Rally to Audit and End the Fed (http://www.meetup.com/campaignforlibertynyc/calendar/10144582/) is in just two weeks, April 25th. The festivities begin at 11:00AM at The Federal Reserve Bank (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=33%20liberty%20street%2C%20new%20york%2C%20 new%20york&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl) where we will Rally and let our anger be known.

At 12:00PM we will make our way to Federal Hall to hear a speech by a special guest speaker and then prepare ourselves for our March around and down Broadway to City Hall Park. (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=249+broadway,+new+york,+ny&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&split=0&gl=us&ei=ZVnfSZqJNJ_glQf04dTgDg&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1)

The Rally at City Hall Park will last from 2:00PM until 6:00PM. Come down and enjoy some guest speakers, live music and flood your congressmen with messages to co-sponsor and eventually pass HR 1207, Ron Paul's bill to finally Audit the Fed and put an end to secretive, abusive banking.

The Federal Reserve is monetizing debt at an accelerating rate. The Treasury is madly issuing treasury bonds to pay for the mad Keynesian policies Washington is trying to shove down our throats. We must not let inflation and debt make paupers of us. It's time to get up, get out and rally to End the Fed, Stop the Bailouts and Restore Sound Money.

Which is why this weekend we are asking that everyone donate $12.07 to NYCC4L@gmail.com on Paypal to help fund what should be an even larger event than the last March to End the Fed. There were no Summer Soldiers at the Fed last November, and I expect there will be even more patriots out there on April 25th voicing their discontent.

well, Hoboken could be nice for pre-meeting, but probably some place in Manhattan would be easier and more practical for those not coming through Jersey. South Street Seaport? Close by and probably a decent size crowd of tourists on a Saturday if the weather is nice...

Mike, do you know where any of these after parties are going to be, or if they're going to be in places where under 21 won't be admitted? From what I can see, there are around 5 or 6 of us from here coming (Jeremy, Mark, Jer's friend, me, Jeff) that 20 and under.

You should hit-up Suspenders on Broadway just north of Trinity Church. It's a restaurant/bar and it's very relaxed, has room, and the owner is hysterical (old, always drunk retired irish firefighter).

Around 10:30, we can meet close to the Federal Reserve building, that way we can socialize before the actually event. How about in that little square across from Brooks Brothers that is right down the road from the Fed (Church and Liberty St.)?

Considering some people have the train to catch back home that day, I am going to see what they want to do... I'm probably going to duck out of the rally around 2PM and hang with them, and go out to lunch... I guess...

Peter Schiff will be there as the Keynote Speaker supposedly.

I was planning on going to the Boston one because it's slightly closer, but it might be worth the extra travel time to see Schiff getting all fired up live.

Edit: This is the info I got

The New York City Campaign for Liberty is proud to announce that Peter Schiff will be the Keynote Speaker at our Rally at City Hall Park on April 25th.

Right. But I don't want to go it alone from at least the train station on. Preferably someone could just pick me up from my house so I don't have to drive to New Haven cuz I hate driving in the city. I'd pay Stormcommander for gas if he wanted to do the deed :) plus I'd def get a friend to come as well. I kind of have a phobia of city driving to be honest :o

Here is the street view: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=church+and+liberty+street,+nyc&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=38.281301,93.164063&ie=UTF8&ll=40.709597,-74.011481&spn=0.008962,0.022745&z=16&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=40.70955,-74.011372&panoid=F09HzJsT_UbEQhODC3fAMw&cbp=12,34.38679245283017,,0,10.603773584905653

There is a little square in front of the store with trees that we can all meet at, socialize, etc... and then walk down Liberty St to the Fed (around a minute walk) around 11.

That's a good spot to meet up. That's were I first went in November and waited for the crowds to form. I'll plan on making it.

I hope we have good weather! :)

80 degrees, partly sunny! Going to be great weather :)

Wear sunscreen - bring water bottles.

I'll be in the chatroom tonight if anyone has any suggestions for places to eat (maybe somewhere outside would be nice). After parties are being planned for after the event as well.

The starting post of this thread will be edited after today with all correct info and meeting places. :)

Email from Peter:

Peter Schiff to speak this Saturday at NYC's "End The Fed" Rally

For years, Peter Schiff has consistently warned that the policies of the Federal Reserve would drive this country toward a monumental collapse. He also warned that the Fed would respond to the crisis by doubling down on previous mistakes. That day has arrived, and people across the country are trying to stop it.

This Saturday (4/25), rallies will be held simultaneously in Washington and all cities with a Federal Reserve branch. Peter will deliver the keynote address to the NYC Campaign for Liberty's "End The Fed" Rally at City Hall Park, Manhattan.

Much attention has been focused on last week's Tax Day Tea Parties. Those events showcased pent up frustration with runaway government, but also revealed some political partisanship that has been exploited by pro-regime pundits. This upcoming rally, however, has a clear and non-partisan goal: pass HR 1207. This bill, backed by more than 65 Congressman and introduced by Representative Ron Paul, would for the first time give Congress greater audit authority over the Federal Reserve and increase transparency at the central bank. Organizers of the rally believe that the more Americans understand about the Federal Reserve System, such as how its continual expansion of the money supply robs savers of their wealth, the more they will demand a return to real money.

Friends of Euro Pacific are urged to take time from their busy schedules to show their support. The campaign has posted a Meetup page for the event, but the basic details are as follows:

Saturday, April 25th

11:00AM
Assemble at the New York Federal Reserve building (33 Liberty St.)
March up Broadway

2:00PM
Arrive at City Hall Park
Guest Speakers
Keynote by Peter Schiff

All are welcome! See you there.

Sincerely,

The Euro Pacific Team

Don't forget to print some of these and pass them out:

Considering no New York representatives currently are co-sponsors of HR 1207, I think it could be helpful. ;)

From Angel, the organizer of the NYC C4L Chapter:

So far we have confirmed guest speakers Peter Schiff, Becky Ackers, Murray Sabrin and Former Congressman Joseph DioGuardi. In light of the significance of the NY Fed we want as many people coming from the surrounding areas as possible to show the Fed we mean business.
