View Full Version : OBAMA WASTING MILLIONS ON AIR TRAVEL. His itinerary to date:

Now I don't advocate that a president fly in coach, and I understand that sometimes there are occasions to travel.....BUT....how arrogant is this Obama to lecture CEO's on profits while WASTING millions of dollars on unnecessary trips.

Each round trip flight of Air Force one requires a companion military plane to carry limos. A massive entourage travels with the president, creating additional security costs and traffic jams wherever he goes.

A decent "man of the people" would use this expensive privilege judiciously. But let's review Obama's touring after just two months:

1. PR trip to Indiana to pitch his stimulus.
2. PR trip to Colorado
3. PR trip to Arizona
4. Valentines day in Chicago!
5. PR trip to Ohio to brag about savings jobs of 18 cops.
6. Trip to Ottowa (Why do we have ambassadors and Secratary of States for?)
7. PR trip to LA to be on Jay Leno
8. G-20 trip to London so he could surrender US sovereignty to a bunch of European socialists
9. Off to Paris to hang out with Prime Minister.
10. Czechoslovakia?!
11. Turkey?!

At this pace, he'll have cost taxpayers as much as those much maligned AIG bonuses within a few years!

Not a damn one of those trips was necessary! NOT ONE!

Oh, did I mention the lavish parties he throws every Wednesday night?

I didn't think it could ever get worse than George Bush...but when it comes to spending and lying, Obama is Bush on steroids!

We need to determine each plane used by each elected official and use that as the basis for estimating the fuel cost associated with each flight...and keep a running tab on the expense.

Salary
Perks
Fuel
Other Expenses
Food
Etc

Then we have a total approximate cost of what each of these crooks costs the taxpayers by keeping their jobs.
Useful in the coming election cycle...right?

The costs of Obama's trips must be astronomical. All these places have to be checked out ahead of time by the secret service. I think he should sell the company jet and sit his stupid ass at home. Maybe we could all pitch in to buy him a cell phone...

ok, a C130 a 747 and a group of gas guzzling caddys and suburbans for the supposed top dawg.
What does Princess Nancy fly? 737?

If we can reasonably estimate the fuel consumption for each means of travel and the distance traveled we can estimate the cost pretty well there...

The weight is an unknown and effects efficienty (uses more fuel), so we err on the down side considering the listed weight of the vehicle and will be well under the actual cost... no biggie.

Title: Presidential Travel: Policy and Costs

CRS report number: RS21835

Author(s): L. Elaine Halchin, Government and Finance Division

Date: April 9, 2007

Abstract
For security and other reasons, the President, Vice President, and First Lady use military aircraft when they travel. The White House generally categorizes the trips as fulfilling either official or political functions. Often, a trip involves both official and political, or unofficial, activities. When a trip is for an official function, the government pays all costs, including per diem (food and lodging), car rentals, and other incidental expenses. When a trip is for political or unofficial purposes, those involved must pay for their own food and lodging and other related expenses, and they must also reimburse the government with the equivalent of the airfare that they would have paid had they used a commercial airline. When a trip involves both official and political activities, a formula determines the amount to be reimbursed for that part of the trip involving political activities. Whether a trip is for official or political purposes, the Air Force pays all operational and other costs incurred by the use of the aircraft. While the travel policies of specific Administrations concerning the reimbursement of expenses for unofficial travel generally are not publicly available, it appears that policy guidelines developed by the Reagan White House have served as a basis for the travel policies of subsequent Administrations.

Consider as well that the Constitution clearly states that the military should only be assembled for two year periods at a time. The government goes out seeking or starting wars just to keep the military going.

It also says they have to be DECLAIRED wars. We haven't had one of those since WWII.

But of course they take the whole press corps along on these political junkets and don't reimburse for any of their fares. And, of course, neither do the reporters--if they had to pay to play they might not write such glowing stories.

Utterly useless trips that accomplish nothing.......G-8 and G-20 bullshit aimed at undermining US sovereignty....

The presidents place is in DC....we have embassies and a Secrtary of State if we need to talk to other "world leaders"

Im kind of lost here? So you would prefer he does not go to other countries and stay in his office?

The president of the US taking his time to fly to another country is a much better way to get what he is aiming for than calling the country's president on his Iphone. (Not saying he actually ever got what he wanted)

How often do you get what you want from customer services over the phone? :P

We need to Cap Prince Barry's travel and Trade Airforce One for an armored bicycle.
