Cedar Valley Tax Day Coalition is sponsoring a Tax Day "Tea Party" in protest of current wasteful government spending and high burdensome taxes.

Purpose Statement
The purpose of this event is to educate and inform the public about the actions of our representatives in Des Moines and Washington D.C. Government should not be spending money that WE don't have and borrowing against our children's and grandchildren's future. This issue should be a big concern for all people no matter their income or their party affiliation. The event is open to the public and is a non-partisan event.
Along with local guest speakers and music, we will be providing handouts with informational facts about state and national taxing and spending. Literature from "Iowan's for Tax Relief will be available and each person attending will receive a free pocket constitution. At the end of the event there will be a ceremonial "dumping of the tea" in to the Cedar River that everyone can participate in.
