This has been posted a couple of times already, but I am putting it here with hopes that more folks will see it.

LittleLightShining is trying to raise some cash for materials to pass out at a very well promoted Tea Party happening in Vermont. This will be a massive opportunity to promote the C4L, as well as Ron Paul's HR 1207.

Here is her original message:

I think many of you know that I am a C4L Precinct Leader and Washington County coordinator here in VT. When I heard about the Tea Parties going on all over the place I decided that we needed one in the State Capitol. I also decided that this would be a golden opportunity for us to promote it as a VT Campaign For Liberty event. I've been on a few radio shows with a few more coming up before the Tea Party and a local radio station has made a fantastic commercial (http://vtcampaignforliberty.com/WindsorCounty/taxprotest.mp3)that will be airing 8-12 times a day until the event.

I have lined up 5 speakers for the Tea Party. Topics of discussion include Vermont's loss of liberty, the predatory Federal Reserve, a citizen's guide to opposing the bailouts by utilizing local credit unions as primary financial institutions, the current state of Vermont's unsustainable economy and the need for 10th amendment legislation in the state.

There is more information about the Montpelier Tea Party here: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=185165

The VT C4L does not have an operational budget yet and I am a stay at home mom so I have a lot of time but not a lot of money. I REALLY want to use this opportunity to spread the message about the Campaign For Liberty, HR 1207 and the We the People Act. If I can get enough money I will print out as many of the different C4L produced materials to hand out.

Please consider making a small donation-- even just $1 to the chip-in I've set up to help with the costs of printing these materials :) http://vtc4lteaparty.chipin.com/campaign-for-liberty-outreach-at-the-montpelier-tax-day-tea-party (http://vtc4lteaparty.chipin.com/campaign-for-liberty-outreach-at-the-montpelier-tax-day-tea-party)I chipped in 10 bucks (even though it's not showing up on the widget, for some weird reason). I know these are hard times, but if you have 5 or 10 bucks you can part with, I'm sure that this will make a good investment for our cause.

Please help out if you can. If you are too strapped, please bump this thread often.

Thanks!

Hmm... maybe more information about how many people in VT are hearing about this Tea Party would help?

I have an email list of interested people that is at the 250 mark. In addition to this, Vermonters for Economic Health (a group providing a speaker for the event) has been sending my updates to their email list of 300 people. The Ethan Allen Institute print newsletter has a distribution of over 400 people. There was a very nice ad for both the Montpelier and Rutland TP's in this month's edition. Even though it is a non-partisan event, the VT GOP has been advertising the event on their calendar on their website, facebook page and weekly email updates. Please keep in mind that these numbers do not reflect the people who are getting this info via forwards.

The Montpelier Tea party is listed on every single Tea Party database on the net.

WSNO is the local talk radio am station. They are sponsoring the Tea Party by advertising and broadcasting live from the event. They put together a minute long commercial that mentions VT C4L twice. This commercial will air 8-12 times a day until the Tea Party. In addition I will be on TJ Michaels' local conservative radio show for the whole two hours the Saturday before the Tea Party.

Last week I was on another radio call in show in Northern VT for 20 minutes, taking calls and answering questions about the Tea Party. I was on another show Friday and should get more air time on that show before the 15th. Tonight I will be calling in to Burlington's own VT Campaign for Liberty member produced public access show "American Socialism for the Rich" and answering questions about the Tea Party. On Monday the 13th I will be on Jim Hogue's radio show on WGDR Plainfield.

I have pitched this Tea Party to my Washington County, Barre City and Barre Town GOP committees and have been overwhelmed with the enthusiasm around the whole thing. They know it's a non-partisan event, its not a GOP pep rally (as other Tea Party's have shown signs of becoming).

I can almost guarantee that this is the only Tea Party out of over 475 scheduled nationwide that is being sponsored and organized by and advertised as a Campaign For Liberty event.

Vermont is small and people have had it. When I say GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY I mean it. So many of you folks complain about the Liberty bandwagon hitchhikers. Here is our chance to get the RIGHT message out to so many people and I'm asking you to put your $1 or $2 where your mouth is. I know it's tough times but if you guys and gals could help me out with a few bucks you will have helped in such a huge way.

This is a great opportunity, thanks for your work LLS!Like I said, I have the time. I think it's really important for people to become more involved in the political process but they need education. We all know that. They will come, I know they will. What will they learn? That's up to us.

I know money's tight for a lot of people-- I wouldn't be asking if I had a bunch of extra just kicking around. But if you can donate and you're not, why?

So, I've been shopping around and it looks like the least expensive option is actually going through the Campaign For Liberty store with my PL discount for some of the materials.

So far my order consists of 300 Campaign For Liberty "Join the Revolution" Brochure, 300 Sound Money SJ's and 300 Individual Liberty SJ's. The total is $88.73 plus $9.95 shipping. I also put together an order at Staples-- they're having a sale-- for 350 Fed Fact Sheets for $21, 200 Audit the Fed($14.02) and 200 We The People sheets($14.02) --which will be cut so there will actually be 400 of each them.

All in all the total comes to $147.72. Right now we're up to $35. I can't order this stuff until I have the money and time is short. I'd like to order the C4L stuff sooner than later because of shipping.

I am anticipating about 500 people at this event. but it's really hard to tell how many will come. I do know that people are actively helping me with additional advertising via fliers, public access calendars and forwarding my emails so we could be surprised and have 750 or 800.

Unfortunately I wasn't as articulate as I would have like to have been and some of the questions caught me a little off guard but here I am. Talking about a Tea Party :)

Good morning bump :)

I just read something on the Campaign For Liberty website urging people to order their C4L materials by 4/9 if they plan to distribute them at Tea Parties. If you can help with a few bucks it would be a great help.

I know a lot of you folks disagree about the Tea Parties and their relevance, whether they are valid or not because of the major media backers, etc. but you have a chance to directly influence the political winds in Vermont. Please help us get the right message into the hands of the silent majority.

If you have the time check out the link to the video in my last post.

UPDATE: This is a copy of a message I sent to the VTC4L group:

Ok, so as it stands there is $127.68 in the paypal account for the chip in. I am placing an order right now for 400 "Join the Revolution" brochures, 400 "Sound Money" Slim Jims and 400 "Individual Liberty" Slim Jims for a total of $128.25 including shipping. There is a pledge on the board and an uncleared e-check for a total of $45 and an unspecified amount coming from [a fellow VT C4Ler] which is more than enough to pay for b&w copies of the other materials that I mentioned. I'm talking to [a fellow VT C4Ler] to see what we can do about color copies for those materials and possibly printing up "Audit the Fed" slim jims.

I'm going to call this fundraiser a success! Thanks everyone for helping out. I have never been so excited for tax day to come in my life!

Thanks :) I'm mostly happy with it. I hope I didn't sound like a ditz. I've learned to temper what I say but sometimes I do tend to ramble.

I'm not going to end the chip in yet in case folks do want to contribute more but I am set for now with materials and was able to purchase more than I had originally hoped for. If we do get more it will go towards printing additional materials. I wish there were little business card sized handouts. I remember during the PCC someone had made some of those with facts and websites related to Ron Paul. They were so easy to pass out.
