Slashdot and other places needs people to submit this story. Futhermore, considering this isn't about to go right away, we need to start organizing an Internet protest to coincide with the tea party protests (and etc as Obama p'sses off more and more people). For those whose field is computers, time to start protesting.
Bill would give Obama power to shut down Internet, networks during cyber attacks
Critical infrastructure would be under government control during crisis

FYI - I don't have any doubt this story has been submitted - its been on Daily Paul in preliminary form for a few days. I'm calling for help in emailing news sources and friends / fellow workers. This should get wide spread circulation specifically with the balanced links posted above.

Time to buy a modem and setup a BBS?
but if theres a scary virus or worm we could get he would just be protecting everyone by shutting down the interwebz right?

When the internet or utilities or both go down, it is time, be prepared and brave.

Alas I gave away my C64 a long time ago :) This won't work well obviously.
Really, jury rigged wireless networks would work for low bandwidth communication for cities.
Practically, time to bring the ham and hacker community into the fold. Prob half already are - the 80s were known for the new conservative (or libertarian) as opposed to yippie hackers. Probably a good many got involved for just this sort of problem. I know I did. Been waiting awhile.

brings up memory of the cables that came up "broken" in the middle east....
maybe everything has to be "shut down" so they can put in their little "fixes" to control MORE (official GOV channels everything has to run through!!!)
hopefully we're getting a step closer to the revolution!!
