The GOP is beginning to shift, and the new direction is better but still not perfect. They're still the party of FEAR, and still supportive of The Patriot Act and all the fine police state goodness that it brings but they're beginning to shift the focus of the security aspect away from hunting down terrorists in foreign lands via pre-emptive war and nation-building.

The new fear tactics are focusing on Mexico and the drug wars. The new security focus is on the US rather than the world.

They feel like that will sell in 2010.

Watch the "drug wars in Mexico spreading over the US boarder" fear being spread on FOX. They're prepping the voters for next year.

They'll still be building a police state.
