View Full Version : Colbert Destroys Beck

Did anyone else watch Colbert tonight as he took Beck to the mat? It was painful to watch the replays of Beck wimpering like a little pussy. Sure, Colbert can be a douche, but at least his neo-liberal 'pretend love for the nation satire' is obvious in its intended aim, Beck has actually convinced himself that crap he spews doesn't stink.

Does anybody else notice Jon Stewart's criticsm of Obama? It's like a total role reversal for the media outlets. Didn't someone mention that this would happen (Conza?)

Colbert is a socialist douchebag, even if he is funny. Why must people expect others to agree with them 100%. Glenn Beck is a patriot, even though he gets it wrong sometimes. Just remember, we all get it wrong sometimes.

how many times do you think the founding father's blubbered like a bunch of pussies in town hall meetings? i agree that colbert is a socialist dick, but occasionally, he gets it right, too.

i guess i wouldn't be so critical if Bech wan't such a cry baby. he even cried during the huntsman interview he did last year while licking the guy's taint.

Conza said this would happen back on January 27th. Little did he know it was already evident before he made this earth-rattling prediction.

Yeah. But credit goes to those before who critiqued the false left / right paradigm.

I just applied it to the modern day setting, and the media outlets aswell. Not just the political parties.

Obama's inauguration was on the 20th of January. I posted that on the 27th. I realised what they were doing at the start of the week. And yes I thought it was obvious, but then I started seeing "Glen Beck is one of us" posts and I got pissed off, no-one else was seeing it. So I wrote that thread to explain it.

And I'm not even in the United States. I'm 12,000 miles away.

How about them apples?

All I ever do is repeat myself to you. You made a retarded statement, I refute it. You bring up the same retarded statement, in another thread. I quote myself, because you've the exact same argument. It gets refuted. Haha.. at least be origional.

You've got nothing. Keep trying the same flawed arguments and you'll keep on failing.

Beck overload makes people go crazy. You guys should ehh...stop worrying about it. Colbert is a liberal dope with an audience of mindless drones and Beck is a recovering (alcoholic...I know Glenn...SHUT UP!) Republican who is in a transition period toward libertarianism. Honestly, I remember when I used to view strong libertarians as nutcases as well. This is kindda like parents who completely ignore their children's hatred of school as if it is a surprise or something.

Despite Beck's obnoxious personality, he is the only one on cable news who even has a remote clue as to what is going on in this country. I respect the guy for who he is, even though he blatantly ignores atheists in his 12 Principles by insisting that we have to believe in God to be principled. There are a ton of things that frustrate me about the guy (either torture here or don't torture at all? Really Glenn?), but lets not all go nuts. Take him for what he is. A conservative. A Mark Sanford of cable news.

And yes, the "Blood shoot out of your eyes" line is getting old. New material Glenn. You have all of great journalists and writers Fox News within your grasp....well...alright, nevermind.

Of course it will happen. Stewart is a self-professed libertarian and Colbert calls himself a "liberal," but if you read any interviews of him outside of his show, he comes off as more of one of the millions of libertarians who call themselves a liberal/conservative simply because this country is so used to the two-party box.

I've been telling people for years that both Colbert and Stewart would turn on the Dems once they came into power, just like they had been savaging the Repubs for years. They're not liberal propoganda machines, no matter how much loony, partisan, Republican talking heads want you to think that they are. In fact, Colbert and Stewart are fulfilling the role of the Fourth Estate better than virtually all of the traditional news media, because the traditional news media has long succumbed to the "one party good/other party bad" routine.

IMO Becks insight is usually correct.
it's just the way his presentation comes off.....
Obama won, not from his points, but from his presentation. Obama is truly a gentleman, in the essence of the word. A "gentle man", in the sense that he makes people feel comfortable.

Beck, who I agree with many of his opinions, can just come of to harsh, in my view.

I'd say that we need a Daniel Hannan.

Anyone who can speak truth to power as eloquently as Obama....and also make the math add up.

In my view, we don't currently have anyone here who can do it.

Maybe we should hire a paid spokesperson? :)

No matter how corrupt and irritating Barney Frank is, Beck's disrespectful, adolescent mimicking of his speech impediment is grotesque. It gives me a measure of Beck's character. Not pretty.

You've got to be kidding me. Stewart is a metropolitan jew from Jersey who's doesn't think the current incarnation of the democratic party is "progressive" enough. He rarely if ever goes after the hypocrites on the left.

Colbert is a little more open-minded but even he is snarky towards conservative/libertarian causes. Both cannot be trusted because they are so subjective.

They are both liberal morons as far as I can tell. Making a living off making fun of everything as the country goes to hell. Many comedians weave valuable points into their comedy such as George Carlin, but not these two guys. The worst part is that so many of their viewers take them seriously, when Colbert said he was going to run for president, I talked to so many morons who hoped that he really would.

Yeah I don't like that either. Criticize the policies and ideas, not personal traits of the person.

You can see the underlying contempt and mocking tone they have for constitutionalists, as if its some ancient cult. They will find in out in due time why constitutionalists have been freaking out over the past 80 years. The so-called smartest guys in the room, who think they're somehow immune to the repeating of history. Thats why we just have to laugh and shrug our shoulders when we watch these 2 buffoons.

Stewart is a self-professed libertarian and Colbert calls himself a "liberal,"

From a 2000 CNN interview, Jon Stewart said:

KING: I think you're a Democrat, Jon.

STEWART: I think that's probably correct. I think I would say I'm more of a socialist or an independent but, yes, I mean, no one would ever I think watching our show think that, boy, that guy is just leaning so far right.

I'll take Glenn Beck any day of the week, failings and all.

So much hate on these forums, you guys need to lighten up. Just because someone wants more regulation on the banks doesn't mean we should hate them or ignore them. Seriously, people like Jon Stewart are on our side, it's just going to take time to teach them and the country about free markets.

Seriously, stop with the exclusionary bullshit.

Teach? :D We're going to have utilize shock treatment to make them receptive to our ideas. And it has nothing to do with the regulation of banks. They love their malleable, "living document" Constitution so much that I find them to be lost causes.

Ride Beck's coat tails!?

Yeah, Steven Colbert does not have a huge following or anything.

It has nothing to do with Beck's popularity. Beck is a media figure and he makes himself look like an ass a lot of times. Why wouldn't he make fun of him?
