Anyone else notice this trend? Ignoramuses leaving the carnage they created, so they can infect new territory. Given the massive tax increases headed towards New York residents, expect more of my clueless neighbors to locate in a state near you!!!!
Its like a plague you see in those zombie flicks.

No, I'm not making it about Red vs. Blue. I'm just illuminating the hypocrisy of these residents who leave blue states because its far too expensive to live there any longer. They don't seem to understand that voting consistently for a one-party monopoly has something to do with the unchecked state budgets, which boomerang back at their limited incomes. Sadly, they carry the same ignorance to their new locales.

I've noticed it happening alot in the past 10years in my area. There's plenty Northerners that have migrated down here with their reasoning being the lower cost of living, less 'hassle', and the weather.

I grieve for you, my son. :D Living in Collectivistan isn't easy. What's even worse is having these milquetoast state republicans offering very little resistance if any at all . Its a freaking joke, how these northeastern RINOs try to camouflage themselves as progressives. Rockefeller republicans who basically run the party from top to bottom nowadays.

took me a while to process that. i thought you meant communist states by red states lol. but why are you angry or are you? many of those "refugees" bring with them experience, business, and money. theyre also hard workers because theyre used to working hard to payoff their taxes. this is actually good

Short term gain, yes. But eventually the blue state overflow is going to make the democratic party the dominant vehicle in American politics. Once that happens, the Constitution will be ravaged even further. Look at what's transpired in North Carolina and Virginia in the last election cycle for example. Thats largely attributable to a population shift over the last 10 years. Don't get me wrong, the GOP needs to be overhauled, but given the unfavorable variables, I don't think there is enough time to perform the surgery.

This is the truth. When I lived in FL, its filled with peeps from NY and other northern states. Actually, I don't even consider FL as a "southern" state anymore because it feels like its filled with yankees. SC is getting that way as well.

Sorry about that. Almost everyone I know has fled the liberal area I live in. They mostly did it because of massive immigration into this area raising the cost of living, creating congestion, and radically changing the culture. I live in suburban areas that are now made of cities/areas that are predominately Chinese, Indian, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. Each group has taken over large areas and almost entire cities.

Open borders has it's side effects...

Just because the Yanks are taking over the state doesn't mean that the place is no longer Southern. Don't give up the good fight.

But thats the pitiful thing about it. The Yanks come down here drawn to the 'southern' comforts, but in doing so, also bring their baggage that they were originally fleeing. Eventually it leads to creating another socialistic cesspool partly because a characteristic of southern culture is making your guest very comfortable. So yeah, "southerners" aren't immune to blame in this respect.

It happened here. Vermont was the most Republican of Republican states. Everyone was a Calvin Coolidge. Then the Communists came in about 40 years ago and the rest is history. I was a flatlander, too. Moved here from CT about 13 years ago. Even in that span of time people from Mass and CT have come up here because they liked it so much the way it was and went ahead and did everything they could to turn it into where they came from. We're trying to stop that. I hope we succeed.

With us it's the damned Callies. They put their mattresses on the roofs of their jalopy Volvo Super Sixes and they crawl over the Rockies on Route 66 through Arizona and New Mexico. The ones that don't burn up their Nordic Vondervagons trying to run the Mojave by day, that is. They ruined their topsoil by refusing to rotate crops and they ruined their economy by electing actors that look like governors instead of statesmen that act like governors. Now they're coming here and registering to vote, and threatening to force us all to ride trains we ain't even got.

We tried to set up agriculture inspection stations at the border, but we pissed off the farmers of the Texas Panhandle. We ordered our sheriffs to shoot cars with Callie plates on sight, but they said it was unconstitutional. So now we got these diseased Callie fruits and nuts roller skatin' around tellin' us we're politically incorrect every time we tell about our hound dogs treein' a coon. We keep tellin' 'em we're talkin' about racoons, but they're so damn dense it's just a knee jerk with 'em to call us P in-C. Pisses us off.

Thing is, we weren't affected by the recession down here 'cause we're always in a damn recession so we just didn't notice the difference. 'Cause of that, these fruits and nuts reckoned we're rolling in it. And sure enough, now we're the ones havin' a water crisis. Mainly 'cause Ozarka ain't good enough for 'em--they want Fiji, or melted Fuji snow, or whatever...

If they keep registerin' to vote we're going to declare a huntin' season for 'em. We'll be sportsmen about it--they'll only be fair game during black powder season. That'll only give us one shot--assumin' they ain't too stupid to run after they hear the first one.

Damn Callies!

If they (transplants) were smart they would realize that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. That said, I think that due to the mindset of Southerners who hate Northerners with a deepset passion, one person from the North would be an influx of Northerners.:p

I think this maybe a case largely of perception. As recent transplants from Atlanta to Ohio and having sat through city service's hookups and drivers license changes the only people we were meeting were from the SOUTH!!!:D LOL!!!

Why? Because the South is running out of water, services are increasing in costs, illegal immigration is out of control, and houses are no longer a reasonable value.

You might be surprised at how openminded some Yankees are. We have had a much better reception up here to the Ron Paul van than we ever got in Georgia. The south lost the battle in politics to neo-cons and guys like Gingrey are the result.

California used to be an orchard of Orange and lemon trees with roads in-between. Most of the trees were cut down to make track houses for the immiagrants of other states that came to our beautiful California. Mexican town had their own village of flowers nessled against their houses and gourds and red peppers hanging on the walls. It was a tourist attraction.

Speaking as a New Yorker most of those I know left to escape high taxes and high cost of living. I and others I know plan on doing the same. These are people that lived here for generations that do not and never have believed in supporting big government through increased taxation.

The problem in NY is the Socialists control the media and the government combined with mass immigration. This state has a long history of mass immigration and indoctrinating these ethnic groups and races into the political system. After a generation or so these immigrants some times wake up and see the light. But with indoctrination in the public school system and rampant liberalism those numbers are dwindling.

Sure there are some liberals bringing their politics down south but I suspect it is more likely mass immigration and liberal indoctrination through the MSM that is screwing things up in the south rather escaping New Yorkers.

If someone moves from a high tax state like CA like me to a low tax state like TX because it has less government, that would actually make the receiving state TX more fiscally conservative and CA less fiscally conservative. However, I have noticed that Austin for example is now the new liberal place to be. Lots of Obama bumper stickers rolling around Austin for a place in the middle of TX and most of them are refugees from elsewhere.

Don’t gorget there’s a few conservatives that want to get out of those cold, northern, over regulated states. Close the border once I get there, OK.

It's a bit ironic how the "bleeding heart liberal open borders" people are the first to flee their neighborhoods when they feel it has "gone bad". Then they set-up their new liberal strongholds elsewhere, probably to repeat the cycle and abandon them again...

The only people to stick around are the crusty "Clint Eastwood Gran Torino" types.

And the native born southerners and westerners are libertarian as they can be when they're railing against dictates from Washington, D.C., but they've always been pretty damned quick to pass their own 'blue laws' and other such crap. So, it's nothing new. It's natural, I suppose, to look at immigrants from anywhere with a flinty eye, wondering if these people are going to change things for the better or for the worse. But I don't see the movement of people going on now 'subverting' any place.

If my state becomes 'John Galt's Island' I, for one, won't be complaining one bit.

New York has been crippled by New York City. Even though we throw off an enormous amount of tax revenue, because no one has cared about civics and only cared about earning, the do-gooders, combined with all the tax receipts, have turned the State into socialist hell. Upstaters would be much better off cutting themselves off from NYC tax receipts, and going it alone. Right now because tax receipts are down, Patterson is jacking up taxes on EVERYONE because its ridiculously expensive to run NYC.

And by the way, it's retarded to make this some state-to-state and/or class warfare argument. That's all we need to do, further divide ourselves.

Apparently the MSM has nothing better to do, because they're still regularly publishing these 'obnoxious Californians are invading your flyover country' stories.
