Root to appear on "Savage Nation" radio Wed., Apr. 1
2008 Vice-Presidential nominee to give commentary on MIAC report controversy, which has been resolved by Missouri LP
LAS VEGAS – The Libertarian Party’s 2008 vice-presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root will appear in the third hour of the “Savage Nation” radio program with Michael Savage on Wednesday, April 1 to address the controversy over a report to law enforcement prepared by a Homeland Security “fusion center” in Missouri allegedly labeling Libertarians and other political groups supporting more freedom and smaller government (such as Ron Paul supporters) as possible threats to national security.
Root calls that report “a blatant violation of civil liberties, a chilling attack on political dissent, and a threat to free speech, our Constitution, and everything this country stands for.”
Thanks to the work of the Missouri Libertarian Party, Congressman Ron Paul and 2008 Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr, Missouri officials have apologized for the report and are investigating why such statements were made.
You may read the letter of apology, and more information on the situation’s resolution on the Missouri Libertarian Party website at http://www.lpmo.org/media/releases/2009/PR-20090323-01.shtml
One of America's most-listened to radio hosts, Savage's "Savage Nation" program has 8.25 million listeners on 400 stations, putting him behind only Rush Limbaugh, National Public Radio and Sean Hannity.
