Greetings, RP fans.

I would like to call everyone's attention to the claim made at a pro-neocon site, which I found through the "Ron Paul" Digg search. It contains clearly doctored links. Please follow along with me as I explain.

CAUTION, I know nothing of this site other than what I am reporting here, so proceed with care. The site reads "Right Wing News".

The Digg link is to http://www.rightwingnews.com/mt331/2007/05/analysis_of_the_may_gop_straw.php. It claims disastrously bad results for Ron Paul in the GOP straw poll.

In the first paragraph, it contains the following link, with the tag "GOP Straw Poll", which readers of the story would be expected to click without inspecting the underlying URL. But the underlying URL is the interesting part! I reads: "http://www.gopstrawpolls.com/pollresults.php?candidate_exclude=Paul". Even those of you not too familiar with database queries will immediately see what these (NOT) clever dudes are trying to pull off, so I won't belabor it.

Again, the tag reads GOP Straw Poll (http://www.gopstrawpolls.com/pollresults.php?candidate_exclude=Paul), so non-phishing-aware users will not check the URL, they'll just click and Voila', Paul is suddenly a non-entity.

Of course, if you've independently visited the GOP Straw Poll site, you already know that RP is leading it handily. You can also get the true numbers, starting from the doctored query, by simply selecting a state and then returning to the (All) option. This apparently causes the query engine to forget the "candidate_exclude" restriction.

Hope this tidbit is useful to someone out there in the campaigning business. I think we can expect lots more of this type. I should point out that one should take NOTHING for granted contained in the Web page I have reported upon here, including the identity of the author of the "Analysis", his true motive or who actually will actually benefit from it all.

If these are the Honest-Abe neocons in action, those awful RP spammers now have a run for their money.

Moral: Don't believe anything you read on-line without some sort of smell test. In other words, THINK carefully, before you scream Bloody Murder.

Regards,

-Bob

PS: Go, Ron Paul.

The attack continues, there are people in power out there that would do anything to prevent Ron Paul from becoming president. I assume they are basically throwing money sites like this to make Paul look small, and try to make his popularity look like the work of spammers.

I think they realized Ron Paul has gained a LOT of support lately, and want to make new and future supporters feel that if they vote for him it will be a wasted vote.

Brace yourselves the 4th and 5th are going to be key days. Prepare for more opposition. America is starting to wake up!

Ron Paul, you will be in my prayers.:)

PS: Welcome to the forum!
