I'm pretty stoked myself, we all know RP's question is going straight to Bernanke. I hope he really tears into him. He's been kinda soft on old big Ben these last few sessions. I want to see a fiery Dr. Paul and a scowling Bernanke. Anyway, does anyone know who'll be broadcasting this online? I'm stuck on the CPU all day, don't have access to TV.

Frank set some stern guidelines (basically said he'd enforce them)...

'You can't go over 5 min etc, can't ask follow up questions' - thats the way I took it.

Generally speaking thou it was... which is fair enough. Can't help but think that's targeted at Ron in a minimal way...

I'm gonna get pissed if Frank interrupts RP again, and ATE UP HIS TIME, when Ron was on before.

\\\ That STAIN Barnet Frank ALWAYS targets Ron Paul on these hearings. The most important part is the follow-up question. Barney Frank just turned this hearing into a Rigged Presidental Debate.

Seems Suffering Succotash Frank did a pre-meeting with the Socialists, FED, and US Treasury to ensure they're not embarassed by Ron Paul and other committee members.

Did anyone catch Ron Paul reading the Financial Times when rep Garrett (R-NJ) was speaking?

"Russia, China have called for a one world currency as soon as G20, will you Bernanke and Geithner, categorically reject that the US will follow the same path?" (words to the effect)

Michele Bachmann just did an awesome job grilling the boyz. She asked each of them where it says in the Constitution that they can do what they're doing. The answers sucked. Basically that Congress authorized them, and that the US gave them the authority in 1933 to engage in emergency lending.

Michele Bachmann rocks! RP was right to endorse her last year.

Their answers did suck, but essentially they were right. If anyone did anything unconstitutional it was congress by giving them the authority to do what they're doing. It would have been cool if they had turned it back around on congress.

I really wish more people would just lay into congress at these hearings. The head of AIG should have ripped into Frank and Dodd for causing this whole mess in the first place. "Congressman, go fuck yourself" needs to be heard more often at these hearings.

quick recap, not sure if i caught it all, tried to make some quick notes.

cronny corpatism,
inbred moral hazard
created a phenomena madness of crowds
question, who should allocate capitalism, market or gov.
came from fed reserve
no savings
artificially low rates
have to look differntly at solutions
everyone loves booms
when bust comes everyone hates it
trying to find a victim
who is going to soak up derivatives and deficit
wall street getting bailed out little guy paying the penalty
failed because we didn't follow market place
who do the 3 of you operate in your own mind
did capitalizm fail
did we bring this on ourselves?
if you totally rejected the market I can understand why you do ths
where do you put the blame market or crony capitalism>

Bernake- free market, protections require oversite.
RP interrupts, isnt that what causes moral hazard?
bernake - banking panics with no oversite is why fed was created.
rp but those only lasted a year and we are determined to make these last 10 years.

Yes, we need the Dr. to tell us what to do next. The bill has enough cosponsors, we need to get it OUT of the COMMITTEE. Either he needs to file a "discharge petition" or he needs to give us the go ahead to start contacting the committee members.

I think a discharge petition might be the ticket though, so that we call our own representatives and ask them to sign it.

You would think as often as the committee has to hear from those clowns they would find a way to get it out for a floor vote. Except Barfy Ffank is connected to some of Pelosi's male constituients if you know what i mean

Right, I don't think the committee is gonna allow it, which leaves only the "discharge petition" approach, I think. With the discharge petition we can hold OUR OWN representatives feet to the fire on it.

his "audit the fed" won't do jack shit.....they are corrupt liars (experts)....cooking the books and having a their partner in crime (the gov. with their former employees like Geitner and others) as the inspector is just another formula for more LIES....

Who for a minute realistically thinks that the FED would turn over any documents to audit that would show any wrong doing??? And who is going to be the folks whose EYES FIRST READ information???

This bill will result in FURTHER FALSE CONFIDENCE put on both the banking cartel and their partners in CRIME (big gov.).

We can do better than this......the people have the power to destroy the institutions if they ROSE UP and excercised their 2nd ammendment rights "rush tumoltuosly to arms" as is written in the Federalist Papers.... How else do you deal with THIEVES??? Give them opportunity to legitimize their THIEVERY??

Forget about working through the gov. it is corrupted to the bone.....the Sovereignty is "we the people" not millionaire lawyers sent to D.C.

1. Removes the LEGAL cloak of secrecy for the Fed.
2. Would require them to put their fraud down on paper for review, then you go about proving their false "cooked books" and then prosecution.

Forcing the Fed to submit to auditing is in no way a bad thing, it would be the first palatable step that our weak representatives could back, in fact one would be hard pressed to find a reason not to back that bill.

Of course if it does come out of committee they may just tack on all kinds of unpalatable crap onto the bill so that the final version isn't even acceptable to RP.

What I am saying is that your point #2 (require "them" to put their fraud down on paper for review") makes it so EASY for them to only allow outside eyes to see what they want them to see (just like a citizen that puts together their own tax information).....Who honestly believes that 10,000 semi-trucks of paperwork (a mountain) will be gone through by ANYONE who could figure out any "nefarious" activity?? To think that is POSSIBLE would require a belief that the FED would provide ALL information (seriously doubtful)...that the "auditors" would be actually "independent" (and not controlled shills, again very seriously doubtful....they would probably have a chain of "eyes" to "filter" anything for the "final report")...

The FED owns the government....don't they??? I believe so.

The FED owns the government....don't they??? I believe so.

I see HR1207 as the first strike. Most people still believe it is a government entity. You get rid of their ability to LEGALLY do whatever they want without oversight, then you start working on the concept of abolishing it altogether.

Starting out with the premise of abolishing it is just to shocking too most reps and people. And yes, I do believe there will be people willing to go through all that paperwork.....Whether they will get the chance is the question....

Yes I know. It's like the winner and the looser of our next Revolution. America's fate, so to speak.

I'm glad though for the internet .. I bet there's not another country out there with entertainment like this, a super power within a super power on the Hill... and done so in peace. Amazing. I'm glad to be a part of it. Both sides should be proud right now, I think. God Bless America !! LMAO

Too bad China, Russia and Iran couldn't be there to question the cronies... I'm sure they would be in Ron Pauls favor. I just know it. Peace is a powerful messege, ya know.

Manzullo and Bachman (not sure if I spelled those correctly) did just of an excellent job of calling out these clowns as RP. The R from the Dallas area was also good (didn't catch his name). People may flame me for this one, but Waters was also really good, as well as the D from NJ (didn't get his name either). All of them called these clowns out on being the flim-flammers that they are and not giving straight answers to the questions. All of them deserve 'tubes, not just RP - and people who still believe that these bailouts are a good thing, and that the current administration is doing the right thing, really need to see them and will hopefully wake up. Looks like I might as well stick around and stay on the stream for the hearings on that "GIVE" (give? what, give your kids' lives to us at gunpoint?) act, too. It would be great to see some of our star performers here come back for an encore!

I think we are in agreement, but given the choice of allowing the Fed to continue you as they are in secrecy vs. forcing them to put their lies in print; I would opt to forcing them to lie and cook their books -- at least then you have a slim hope of proving them in a lie.

Yes there is a slim "hope" (due to human error)...but more likely this will become a "glowing endorsement" (PR opportunity).

I don't know enough to believe that the twin tower attack was anything other than what the "official" 9/11 report said it was, but that 9/11 report is a GREAT EXAMPLE of what will be "fabricated" by any "audit".

Since most people seem to think THE FED is part of the government, they'll be all for the audit. After all, it's part of the government, so nothing should be secret, right?? ;)

I'm with others in favor of the audit. I know the Fed would certainly not like this, and they'll probably get their lobbyists to thwart passage of the transparency Bill. I'm hopeful something can be found if unrestricted access is voted for. I'd also like to know where all the gold from 1933 went. I'd expect they'd find market manipulations in precious metals and commodities.

Anything that comes to light that can piss off the American People is a good thing. One more straw to help break the camels back.

Nancy Pelosi can keep it from ever being voted on, and that's something I would expect from that *(&*(&^*( *()&()&*(*& (%^%&*()&$ #%*& ()&$@ #%*&.

Well, some parts of the book are boring, but some are great. To me, it is worth it. But i am trying to have a nice personal library so I like to buy a lot of books.

Ever seen Fahrenheit 451? :p
