View Full Version : By neocon "logic", isn't wanting Obama to fail tantamount to wanting America to fail?

When Ron Paul stood up before a national television audience in South Carolina on May 15, 2007 and said emperor Rudy Giuliani had no clothes, neoconservatives (by my definition, a pro-war republican) said Dr. Paul was "blaming America."

To them, Paul blaming the federal government's actions was and still is "blaming America." By that reasoning, the federal government IS America. Saying the federal government's action incited hatred and brought about blowback was, again, "blaming America."

Going by that, how can one who makes such an absurd argument say with a straight face that wanting Obama to fail is not the same as wanting America to fail? So when we have a republican president, the president IS America. But when a democrat is president, he's not?

And what the hell happened to "support our commander-and-chief in a time of war" since Obama won?

The rules are different when a Republican is in charge.
