Check out this site a friend of mine made:

http://libertycasting.org/

It aggregates news items of pertinent interest to our movement. Mucho handy. Do please check it out and use the heck out of it. My take is that it's an EXCELLENT resource!

Let me know what you think too...

PS -- if you have any suggestions on sites to add to the feed, let me know that too, and we'll get them added.

The first thing I notice is the name... Liberty Casting... Reminded me of an extensive expose' I read recently about "Vision Casting" being done in some "Christian" churches that are slippin' and slidin' away...

(Not that there's any connection to the Liberty news collection site. Maybe the owner is merely a "New Ager" or something and simply likes the term. It does have an appealing "ring" to it).

FWIW...

Vision Casting

Church change agents work to create dissatisfaction with the old traditional ways. When people become dissatisfied with the present situation, will they be open to change.

One method used by church change agents to sow seeds of dissatisfaction is to “cast a vision” for the membership of a better future. By casting their visions of “what can be” (which is a fantasy or an illusion), the change agent is able to “unfreeze” the group from the old way and move them toward a new way as they all now focus on this new vision. Vision statements are an important part of the church transformation process. As the congregation focuses on a man-made vision or purpose, an organizational collective “group mind” is created.

To “catch the vision” or “vision casting” are New Age terms.

Interesting. I doubt that was on his mind. I am guessing, just guessing he is thinking of his aggregator as a means of "broadcasting' liberty-related news from a single-source point. I am thinking 'casting' has more to do with broadcasting than anything.

Anybody have thoughts on sites to add to the aggregator?

Anytime! Friend of mine, and a friend of the Revolution made this site, and it struck me as insanely useful; so I wanted to encourage folks to check it out. For me personally, it will make it crazy-easy to post goo d links on my Facebook feed. Not to mention elsewhere.

What does that mean? I like uPhre so far. I was thinking we should have a Digg-like site so people can submit articles themselves. Most feed readers already aggregate/combine feeds so I think it's more important to provide people with the highlights, especially those unlike me who don't have time to read hundreds of news items each day.

I really don't think our movement needs MORE sites. We need more action and more organization.

Polish, update, refine, and improve the sites we already have.

I dunno, I think I've got that action and organization bit down pat myself; and I found it awful useful. In fact, by spending less than HALF the time I used to spend researching events because they are now all in one place for me, I now have even MORE time to dedicate to action and organization...
