540AM Talk Show Host Bud Hedinger got Glenn Beck on the air just a few minutes ago. Bud said that Mr. Beck was in Orlando today (in conjunction with The Childrens Miracle Network). Hedinger then got Glenn on the phone and told him about the shindig at Lake Eola. Glenn was excited and Bud asked if there was any way Beck could make an appearance on Saturday. Beck asked a few more questions and then said, 'I will do my best...No promises till I talk to my staff to see if I can do it...But I promise I'll do everything in my power to be there.'

Bud closed out the call with telling Beck that this would be the biggest Tea Party in the US. Beck seemed to be very impressed. The fact that Hedinger's station carries the Glenn Beck Radio Program (3rd most highly rated talk show in the US), was an added bonus. He also congratulated Bud Hedinger on taking on the Tea Party concept.

Folks this is going to be huge. You get your sister, you get your brother, you get every last person you know to take this event to the next level.

Saturday March 21 12noon-2:00pm Lake Eola Orlando, Fl.

Well, I guess if and when he goes off of his new script he'll be on the air, not in front of a potentially hostile crowd. So, that should be a good thing if it comes off.

Great, another neocon hijacking the movement. You do realize that Rick Santelli is not a libertarian and voted for McCain?

Yup close up our tent and make sure no one else gets in. Sounds like a winning plan

I've said this before and I will say it again, we should not shun these people unless we wish to look like elitist pricks or conspiracy theorists. As long as our message gets out, we should embrace them, but never ever let them take the reigns. Why be unfriendly and uninviting? That will turn people off real quickly.

I don't want to be "in" if "in" means supporting such horrendous things as war and collectivism.

The message has to be consistent.
Glenn Beck is pro-war. This cannot possibly mix with a libertarian message. War is through and through a collectivist idea. If we are consorting with the likes of war loving Beck, I'd rather not be a part of it.

He's just one guy.

You catch more flys with honey than you do with vinegar.

Hopefully those that go to protest and socialize can control themselves into not giving him a reason to start being anti rp supporters again.

I believe he has changed his stance on war which is perfectly fine. People learn and grow. Correct me if I am wrong.

I'm actually liking a lot of what Beck has to say. He's not perfect on every issue, but to tell you the truth I don't agree with every Ron Paul supporter either (Ron Paul himself I agree with totally), especially when they go far out on conspiracy stuff. The key for me is: Are They Going To Help Get Incumbent Politicians and Socialists out of elected office. Then and only then can we have real citizen-servant elected officials.

is this just a tea party or is a Ron Paul meetup group arranged teaparty?

Just a Tea Party, but I and a lot of other people will be there.

At the forums that don't believe in free speech.

My advice, for what it's worth, is let 'em get it out of their systems here rather than at your shindig. People don't seem to want our fathers' Republican Party any more. They got told to shut the hell up too often.

Having had my posts summarily deleted because they stepped on the toes of some sacred cows around here, I find it ridiculous that nonconstructive and offensive language is 'okay.'

Yes, I too hate the admins at this site since they ban everyone without warning for no reason despite liking the site itself. I hope that opinion not worthy of punishment.

Fair enough. And I'll defend to the death your right to say it, too. I'll even readily allow that this post was much more constructive and less offensive than the other one.

There is a reason for Beck's latest sermons. They know that the vast majority of Americans are peaceful, even when pissed.
He is targeting the small minority of the radicals. They want someone to "GO OFF". That will give an excuse for a reaction.
Don't take the bait.
And don't trust him, he is not our friend.

How about instead of alienating his followers by spouting anti-Beck rhetoric, we use this opportunity to educate them while we still have their attention.

I'm not certain of Beck's motives, but I am confident that the overall message of the freedom movement is more appealing to his viewers than any backpedaling he may do in the future. I consider it a beachhead for exposure to a new demographic.

Anyone who does not see that Beck can be used to help our movement doesnt want our movement to grow.

These are the growing pains of becoming mainstream. Get use to it.
