What most people don't know is that Stossel came back and beat the living shit out of the wrestler.

Apparently he later got fired for trying to fight with Mr T backstage

I hope Stossel learned some self defense after that. Poor hillbilly redneck eventually got too old to wrestle. He never tried to get his H.S diploma.
Funny but should be in the off topic category. *ducks from open palm slap from rael for saying this* haha

Little known fact: Once he retired from being The Wrestler, he went on to become The Pianist on the polish radio, and survived the holocaust.

Its amazing that there was a time when the legitimacy of pro wrestling was even in question.

Well, it ain't exactly news that wrestling is "fake". It's not suppposed to be real, but what the wrestlers put themselves through is pretty real. Wrestling is like a modern day morality play. Calling it fake (and of course the wrestlers aren't really trying to maim each other - good lord, their careers would last about a week if they were and the cardinal rule of pro-wrestling is to take care of your opponent) completely misses the point of what wrestling is. I'm not a fan mind you, but I do appreciate what these guys put their bodies through to create the illusion of conflict and violence. It ain't great art, but it is art.
