The video says a lot about psychology within a temporary "crisis" (everything is a crisis nowadays).

The oil companies wanted to drill in places that the government said no. They wanted to use the crisis to end the ban.

The Waters woman wanted to nationalize the oil companies because of the crisis.

Neither of these parties believes that gas prices would be lower if they got their way.

The oil company would never do more work and invest money to help the price of oil go down. They wanted to hold more supply while the price remained high to make more money. Nothing wrong with that per se, but they would never admit that. Instead they lie.

If the government owned oil production in this country there would be price controls, and we all know what that does to supply.

Both parties just wanted more control than they have now. Crises are used to increase control. The more people realize this, the more go looking for crises and/or creating them so they can take advantage.
