Since the 'top tier candidates' won't debate Ron, outside of a major network debate, why doesn't Ron challenge any one of them to a one on one debate? It'd certainly get some publicity. Kind of like a steel cage match.

He'd have to make the challenge on some widely watched TV program or else none of the media will pick it up. Maybe the next time he's on FOX news.

No one would take him up on the offer. The ones higher in polls than Paul would have nothing to gain, and the people like Tancredo would draw zero attention from media, etc.

Fred Thompson just might. He is overconfident and might relish the chance to show that he's the one to prove Ron Paul wrong. Even if he declines, the publicity from doing it would be a positive thing - showing confidence and such.

Ron should think carefully before agreeing to any debates where not all candidates are invited. Once the precedent is set, we could see a wave of debates limited to the "top-tier" and candidates who had already agreed to debates without everyone being invited would have little cause to protest.
