Ron Paul’s Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 Gains 21 Co-Sponsors!

March 11th, 2009 7:17 pm | by George Dewey | Published in Federal Reserve, Free Market, Liberty, Market Regulation, Ron Paul, law | 3 Comments

Although Ron Paul never seemed to earn much Congressional support for his attempts to abolish the Federal Reserve (H.R. 2755—110th Congress, H.R. 2778—108th Congress, H.R. 5356—107th Congress, H.R. 1148—106th Congress), despite trying each and every Congressional session, he has, in his more recent and refined attempt to hold the Federal Reserve accountable to the American people, received much more support with his Federal Reserve Transparency Act. Introduced on February 26, 2009, H.R. 1207 now has 21 Co-Sponsors!

On February 26, 2009, Congressman Ron Paul from Texas introduced a bill, HR 1207 titled the “Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009, which will ensure that the Fed be audited and reported to the United States congress. So far, this bill has 21 cosponsors, including … Congressman Tom McClintock. This bill has bipartisan sponsorship, and is still under review by the committee.

Let’s hope that this momentum continues and that the end result is complete success!

There is a similar bill in the Senate;

Please everyone, call your reps, and have your family and friends call, as well. We want rollcall votes in both houses...

Thanks

This is old
it actually has 28 cosponsors as of today
this bill is popular. Im still wondering how they will "stop" it or at least "dilute" it. If this bill passes as it is then Ill run naked in the street(maybe)

Yup, I remember this. Actually, when I started my big thread on H.R. 1207, I believe it had 49 co-sponsors.

We've done well, but the fight isn't over by a long shot.

Who would have thought it would get this many co-sponsors? Simply amazing. Timing is everything.

Surprisingly, Iowa's Senator Leonard Boswell signed on. Never thought he would. Steven King has yet to commit. I'm calling him again Monday.

Can a senator sign on to a House bill?

Can a senator sign on to a House bill?

No. They can sign onto the Senate version of H.R. 1207: S. 604 (http://www.congress.org/congressorg/issues/bills/?billtype=S.&billnumb=604&congress=111).
