From the federal level? How many children are in this nation? And they seriously think they can efficiently and effectively micromanage every family?

Insane.

The next logical step from this is-all children are to be wards of the State for life. :(:p:mad:

I HATE THE STATE! :mad::mad::(:(

I'm guessing something like this comes from Do-Gooder nanny politicians. Maybe some parents are unprepared (or just bad parents). It looks like this is the politicians way of micro managing every household in those cases, but affects everybody.

Oklahoma and our next door neighbor Arkansas have for years been hot to take children away from their parents. Their motivation is simple--more children in state care means more federal dollars. So, they have become none too picky about which children they take or whether the act is just. This isn't just my opinion, either--the state just underwent an audit and this was the official conclusion.

And this looks like it will have the same effect, only moreso.

Welcome to A Brave New World.

It figures that Hillary Clinton would be a cosponsor. Why would a Republican sponsor a bill like this? http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-244

Anyway, I don't think this will pass committee or the House, but we could make an effort to stop it.

Not unless it's an old leftover. The Secretary of State has no business sponsoring anything.

This is directly related, and an integral part of Agenda 21.

It is worth your time to study and understand Agenda 21.

You need to understand that YOU have nothing to say about it.
You have no vote , no voice, no choice.

You can only choose to resist.

Because I have kids - I've seen the insanity at work.

2 year olds in speech therapy? Nobody can understand a 2 year old except his Mom anyway.

Yeah pcosmar, you're right about this. You know, I used to have a document that someone had made that was like a quick study guide to Agenda 21. But, when my system crashed, I lost it. Have you seen anything like that in your traverses around the web?

Much. From many different standpoints. Much is already being implemented.
I'll grab a few links and post.

Page 27 is a doozy.

"In contrast to the unalienable rights found in America's founding documents, the United Nations Charter and the Declaration of Human Rights are based on a very different idea: rights are granted and rescinded by men."

"However, for progress to be made in implementing Sustainable Development in the United States, unalienable rights such as the right to property must be eroded, attacked, and struck down altogether."

My 2 year old was in speech therapy. He was born with a misshapen jaw and a cleft palate. It was needed and reasonable in his case. He was used to there being a huge hole in the roof of his mouth and suddenly it was gone. All of his sounds changed after surgery.

Yes, I am not saying that there are no legitimate reasons for it. But I have had several aquaintances with 2 year olds in speech therapy, for absolutely no reason I could see, or hear, other than the fact that the doctors are snake oil salesman.

From the wiki, for quick reference only
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agenda_21

Agenda 21 is a programme run by the United Nations (UN) related to sustainable development. It is a comprehensive blueprint of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the UN, governments, and major groups in every area in which humans impact on the environment. The number 21 refers to the 21st century.

Most of the kids in early speech are on Medicaid and it IS a way to milk the system of an easy buck. OUr speech therpist saw about 25 kids a week and only 4 or 5 were privately insured.

It's a bit premature for that, it's not even out of committee yet. Most bills don't make it out of there.

There has been a huge push for programs like this in the UN for years. Many countries have already adopted similar legislation. None of it has been successful. Heck, Canadian kids sue their parents when they get spanked. Whats worse is that they win in court. If we lets this legislation get through we are going to have similar problems to Europe.

The way our government is we will probably end up with kids like they have in England.

Yeah, I remember one that blew my mind not too long ago.

Ah, here it is:

Court overturns father's grounding of 12-year-old

Jun 18, 2008

OTTAWA (AFP) — A Canadian court has lifted a 12-year-old girl's grounding, overturning her father's punishment for disobeying his orders to stay off the Internet, his lawyer said Wednesday.

The girl had taken her father to Quebec Superior Court after he refused to allow her to go on a school trip for chatting on websites he tried to block, and then posting "inappropriate" pictures of herself online using a friend's computer.

The father's lawyer Kim Beaudoin said the disciplinary measures were for the girl's "own protection" and is appealing the ruling.

"She's a child," Beaudoin told AFP. "At her age, children test their limits and it's up to their parents to set boundaries."

"I started an appeal of the decision today to reestablish parental authority, and to ensure that this case doesn't set a precedent," she said. Otherwise, said Beaudoin, "parents are going to be walking on egg shells from now on."

"I think most children respect their parents and would never go so far as to take them to court, but it's clear that some would and we have to ask ourselves how far this will go."

According to court documents, the girl's Internet transgression was just the latest in a string of broken house rules. Even so, Justice Suzanne Tessier found her punishment too severe.

Beaudoin noted the girl used a court-appointed lawyer in her parents' 10-year custody dispute to launch her landmark case against dear old dad.
