Seems like Ron Paul is the only member of Congress ever held accountable by the media, which is ironic since he's pretty much the only one who isn't a criminal.

Why would he go on to discuss this useless issue. He votes against all earmarks, period.

Yes. It's the ONLY issue the msm has against him atm.

They can't use isolationist or anything to do with the War on Terror... (lull, because: Obama ended the War on Terror, didn'tss ussssse knowwww!!!1111)

They can't attack him on economics. Haha.

No reason to bring up racism.

Ear marks... about the only thing they have. Which is pretty retarded.

I think it may actually show people that Ron Paul is not so overly rigid in his principles that he is unable to find a smart compromise. He will defend the earmarks as he has done before by stating that because the system is as it is, in spite of his desire to change the system he believes that his constituents should have the same opportunity to petition the federal government to get some of their tax-dollars back as the rest of America, but adding that he will still have to vote no on the final vote out of principle. This means that he will not impose his own beliefs on his constituents by hampering their ability to petition the government, but that he will also not abandon those principles. This is a smart compromise because no one really loses. If the rest of america wakes up and elects liberty-minded representatives who vote no to all earmarks, then Ron Paul will have had his silent victory just by standing his ground.

RP has a valid argument about returning tax money stolen from his constituents back to them through earmarks and keeping the money away from the executive branch, however as far as I know he has never explained where he gets the amounts he asks for each earmark and why some of his questionable earmarks are not waste.

And it's not fair that most folks in his district don't get their money back and a few privileged ones do...especially if those who do make a big profit and laugh their way to the bank....so what RP is doing is a transfer of wealth from the people in his district who don't get their money back to those who do.

Well just as I predicted this was a mistake to go on this show to defend this ludicrous and useless issue. A simple 3-sentence statement issued by his hill office would have sufficed and better answered the question. Hopefully Dr. Paul's staff will wise up and not take the bait on media traps like this in the future.
