Adorned with bowie knives, pistols and peaceful exasperation...Conservatives and freedom activists swarm the New Hampshire legislature demanding passage of a warning to Washington. This bill would declare the union nullified if the central government commits certain abuses.

made to be used by tyrants, or made to be held by tyrants, blade first? (like a pincushion) ;-)

or 200 to 150, something like that. By this time next year the #'s will reverse.

I applaud these people, but was all that necessary? If it were me, I'd save the arms for a trip to Washington.

I heard they were invented in Tennessee.

O well. Shows what I know.

Apparently they didn't do enough.

All what necessary? I was there, just got back... Some might say the crowd got a little rowdier than necessary, others disagree. The arms are a way of life in NH, though. Unlike DC...

Rep. Itse (NH) and some Dems are now working on a version of the bill more acceptable to Democrats. It should come up next year.

The Bowie family grew up not far from where I was raised.

The first knife Bowie became famous with was allegedly designed by Jim Bowie's brother Rezin in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, and smithed by blacksmith Jesse Cleft out of an old file.[2] Period court documents indicate that Rezin Bowie and Cleft were well acquainted with one another. Rezin's granddaughter claimed in an 1885 letter to Louisiana State University that she personally witnessed Cleft make the knife for her grandfather.

I believe the original blade was 9 inches.
