The phone call came after the president was asked aboard his plane: "Are you a socialist as some people have suggested?"

He was clear in his first answer: "You know, let’s take a look at the budget – the answer would be no."

"Is there anything wrong with saying, 'Yes'?" a Times reporter pressed.

"Let’s just take a look at what we’ve done," Obama said, ticking off efforts his administration has made to stabilize the economy. But he acknowledged that, as he told Joe the Plumber, he plans to try to spread the wealth around.

So, Obama, basically, the answer is YES; you are a socialist.

"It wasn't on my watch," he said. Well, let's see what sort of socialist programs have come into being under his watch!

If he's hurt just by the description of his policies, imagine how the rest of us will feel upon their implementation.

Liberals invented passive-agressive behavior.

He seems to show that.

You guys are hurting, and you all are calling me Socialist, so dammit, spread the wealth, and I'll have my parties that come from your taxes!

Lol at Bush policies being "free market". Political rhetoric is so screwed up in this country nothing means anything anymore.

At least he intends to spread the wealth to the lower and middle class and not only to the wealthy, unlike the corporate socialists aka the Republican presidents.

I'm not so sure about that statement. If he implements a "cap and trade" on carbon emissions, he's going to pass along higher energy costs to all Americans. Moreover, he's likely prey on bottom line of the oil industry, which will probably result in a price hike in the near future. Off the record, the democrats acknowledge that gas prices are far too low.

Aside from a few crumbs he throws around in a demonstrative way, he's still a shill for the shadow banking system. Americans have to arrive at the realization that nothing in this world is "free" and that their benevolent leader is simply greasing the skids for re-election.
