I read this on the LRC Blog and I just had to share it with you all.

re: Taking Stock Market Advice From A Socialist
Posted by Thomas DiLorenzo at 08:51 PM

C.R. sends me this article that includes a discussion of how Abraham Delano Messiah Obama, stock market "expert," was so broke in 2000 that the rental car place at the Democratic National Convention wouldn't take any of his credit cards. But he nevertheless feels completely qualified to centrally plan the entire U.S. economy, including the creation of a socialistic, government-run health care monopoly. The audacity of a dope.

How ironic is that?

The MSM should point this out, but they won't.

I think it shows that Obama is the right one to fix our situation. Obviously we just need to spend tons of money and go into a lot of debt. Seems like Obama knows how to do that.

When a candidate for public office faces the voters he does not face men of sense; he faces a mob of men whose chief distinguishing mark is the fact that they are quite incapable of weighing ideas, or even of comprehending any save the most elemental men whose whole thinking is done in terms of emotion, and whose dominant emotion is dread of what they cannot understand. So confronted, the candidate must either bark with the pack or be lost... All the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.' The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. -- H L Mencken, Baltimore Sun (26 July 1920)

Sorry. I assumed this would be an attractive option for everybody. But I was wrong to assume. Ass U Me, I get it.

Sorry. I assumed this would be an attractive option for everybody. But I was wrong to assume. Ass U Me, I get it. I just have a pro-individual anti-collective bias. ;) IF your government sucks, opt out. It then becomes the government.

"Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long." -- Ron Paul 2004
