I have read many articles concerning Social Security, what is wrong with it as well as different theories about how it has and has not helped. I personally think it is a mis managed cluster and that it should be 100% voluntary. At any rate, can anyone direct me to a good source or article that covers all aspects of the evils of Social Security. I looked to the normal search engines last night and found nothing but the normal cheer leading crap.

Thanks,

Dan

"What we found is that there does not appear to be an obligation to contribute to the SS fund. Section 405, as with so many other statutes, contradicts current accepted standards. The first question that should be asked is “what statute do Employers rely on to forcibly deduct contributions from paychecks and contribute to the SS fund?”"

Correct, it is voluntary for most. But be careful with terms like Employer and Employee, for them, it is not voluntary. SS is part of the income tax.

Social Security is the largest expense of our government.

Otto Von Bismarck invented Social Security in Germany in the late 1800s. The people gave a portion of their income to the government, who would then "hold on to it for them," until they were 65. At the time, however, the average life expectancy in Germany was only 45. It was a complete ponzi scheme.

Social Security is a scam. It's not like they're holding our money in a vault somewhere. That money has already been spent. My uncle is only 57 and has terminal lung cancer. He put money into Social Security all these years and will not live to get any of it back. Lame.
