LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- In Shanghai, Santiago, Taipei and Tel Aviv, the bear market has hardly crossed investors' paths this year, with benchmarks in these and 10 other emerging markets outshining their U.S. counterparts since November.
But that exuberance may have hit its limit, analysts say, with some key markets turning in the past week.

i'm surprised that Brazil is up, given the huge slump in commodities recently

"What bear market?" You're kidding, right?

This article manipulates the data to create a story. Doesn't the fact that they chose Nov 21st as the day to start tracking these markets' relative outperformance on their chart strike you as odd? These markets are NOT doing well at all.

Taiwan down 63% from its high.
China down 68% from its high.
Brazil down 69% from its high.
Russia down 82% from its high (still can't get over that.)
S&P down "only" 55% from its high so far.

The only difference has been that over the last few months, the S&P has edged further and further downward, coming ever closer to joining these markets in the gutter, while they have remained relatively flat after initially plummeting off of the cliff.
