Did you hear Judd Greg say just now "we all accept that there must be a huge growth in government to get us out of this hole."

We ALL do? That's just as bad as "We all agree we have to do SOMETHING."

Jim Rogers is absolutely correct, these retards are destroying our economy and our country. I'm still trying to grasp if they're doing it deliberately or not, i'm really starting to think the first now.

It has to be deliberate, otherwise it means we've elected a bunch of complete frikken morons.

Bernanke doesn't sound too bad today (in comparison ;)), IMO. He's calling for fiscal responsibility long-term and a restructuring of the Welfare spending to curb runaway expenditure.

There was a senator that asked Bernanke where the 20 billion went , who are the aig counterparties
Bernanke blamed Congress for lack of regulation and was avoiding the audit question.

H.R. 1207: Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009
Ron Paul's bill would help Congress to find out where some of the money is going.

they also said they are introducing legislation today to find out which banks got money from the Fed.

I have come to the conclusion that they are just trying to save their asses and position, meaning that they are trying to save the system as it was before (and make some money while they are at it). They dont fucking care how hard we have to work or how much suffering they create. They just want to stay on power and will do whatever is necesary.

Or I might be wrong and they are evil and are destroying the country on porpouse, or they might be really as dump as they look. Who knows...

If Occam's Razor is true then the simplest explanation is most likely the right one. Is it easier to believe that so many people, highly educated, are just stupid or that they are doing this intentionally? I think there are just too many who are too smart while being WILLFULLY ignorant that are involved in this to say it's just incompetence.

Warner brought up a very good point - AIG was selling bullshit, those who bought the bullshit fell down on THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to do due dilligence, and now the American taxpayer is punished because of the "counterparties" failures.

I AM SICK AND FUCKING TIRED OF BEING TOLD THIS WOULD CRASH THE WORLD WITHOUT KNOWING WHO THESE "COUNTERPARTIES" ARE.

For all intents and purposes, it's over. It's done. I do not see how there will be a 2012 election. As this degrades faster and faster, government will take progressively more draconian measures to protect themselves and maintain their power and authority. This crisis has been used, and will continue to be used, to advance the power of the state. It is virtually impossible to watch this unfold and not see the sickening reality that this once great nation will end in a formal dictatorship. And the people will gladly go along. Afterall, someone has to save us. If they'll go along with adopting socialism and communism to save the "free market system", they'll go along with anything.

I'm in academia right now. The people that we think are highly educated aren't. They have pieces of paper saying they are. Every school in the nation from K-12 to university educations have been on steady decline for 30 years. I know PhDs in Chemistry who don't know how to use a syringe. I know PhDs in Engineering that don't know how to use a screw driver. I know an MD who didn't know what a compound fracture was. I know another MD who is legally blind but is training to become a surgeon. You read stories everyday about doctors accidentally leaving a pair of scissors inside a patient during surgery or taking out the wrong eye. Our professionals are not so professional anymore. If these guys in Washington were so smart, we wouldn't have any problems. Economists who dictate policy are all trained in an ideology that is the most bastardized vision of economics. Washington doesn't want to hear the opinions of real economists because the real economists would tell Washington they need to take a pay cut and fire all their buddies. The sad reality is, it's that simple.

I believe that's true for many of our politicians. I don't think it's true, though, for the folks steering the economic ship and I don't think that's Congress. Ben Bernanke, Paulson, Geithner...they know, have known, exactly what their policies would lead to.

And boy did your post depress me. My dh is in engineering, too, and often has to work w/a variety of engineering firms from all over the country through contracts. He would support your theory in that regard and believes the lack of common sense is just astounding.

the Fed is intentionally destroying the dollar. you don't debase a currency unless you plan to replace it with something else. on cnbc Ron Paul said the international bankers are planning a new currency.

all of the information the gov. is gathering for universal healthcare in a central database can also be used for a new currency. a digital cashless currency.

they will then be able to use a nationalized financial system to control the currency. if you are not in compliance with the law or regulations they can just cut you off from buying and selling.

ihsv
03-03-2009, 11:52 AM
Yes, it's quite deliberate. When you consider who is pushing for these financial armageddon spending measures, and then consider that those same individuals have divided loyalties to international and financial organizations, it's impossible for a rational person who studies the facts to come to a different conclusion.

the Fed is intentionally destroying the dollar. you don't debase a currency unless you plan to replace it with something else.

The Romans debased their currency to worthlessness with nothing to replace it. You know what happened after that.

The Chinese did something similar during Mongol Rule, which led to the greatest collapse at that point in their history.

Central planners aren't smart enough to realize that they are too stupid to manage the economy. They think they can "fix" their currency before it fails. Sometime they manage it, most of the time they don't. That's why fiat currencies always fail.
