I heard there were 9000 attendees, but only like 1700 votes. I want to know why our guys didn't flood the poll and crush all opposition.

I didn't go this year, but usually most of the attendees are students who pay less. Perhaps they didn't get a vote? Again, no idea, I wasn't there.

Lots of people from the area go for a part of it or in and out. It's possible many of them didn't vote. Also, some might think it's a bit early for that kind of thing. :)

Good point for the first one.

Second one, they still should have packed the house and voted for Paul.

Weird. I thought Palin would win and she ties for third with Paul. Did Slick Willard Romney pay for a bunch of votes again like he did for the Ames Iowa straw poll in 2007?

Romney is an easy target to take down, imo...

If we get him in debates with Paul, it's over this time. Does anyone remember the "Lawyers" answer.... he also talked about "giving the people more rights" which shows a complete lack of understanding of the constitution.

I personally think Romney's a complete idiot, and not a very well crafted politician. He's got the look for sure, but i personally couldn't be more happy with him winning.

We can overtake Romney. easy. What's his strength? Economy? What were his predictions?

Mitt Romney: 20%
Bobby Jindal: 14%
Ron Paul: 13%
Sarah Palin: 13%
Newt Gingrich: 10%
Mike Huckabee: 7%
Mark Sanford: 4%
Rudy Giuliani: 3%
Tim Pawlenty: 2%
Charlie Crist: 1%

Paul and Palin tied on percentages, but Paul got more votes I think. At least his name appears above Palin's on every list I've seen.

"Nearly 60 percent of the straw poll participants were between the ages of 18 and 25. More than half of the conference attendees this year were college students."

How did Paul lose? Maybe people just assumed he wasn't running in 2012, and forced themselves to pick someone else?

Man if Rush would just drop the foreign policy part of the speech I could indulge in the liberty/constitutionalist rhetoric without feeling bad about myself.

there is usually a good percentage of CPAC attendees in college but not all are RPR's. Most that go to CPAC are born and bred conservatives, taking 3rd is a great accomplishment.
