Video: Ron Paul knocks paper money, Afghanistan surge at CPAC (http://hotair.com/archives/2009/02/27/video-ron-paul-knocks-paper-money-afghanistan-surge-at-cpac/)

The cognitive dissonance is strong in that thread. /Obi Wan

Nary a word about the rest of his speech on his conservative economic policies and the terrific points he made on individual liberty or vile collectivism. It's all about his "isolationism."

F^ck them. They'd rather pal around with plumbers (that aren't) from Ohio, ditsy broads like Sarah Palin who's voice is like nails on a chalk board, Bobby Jindal the Page, and Malibu Mitt Romney who tortures dogs and foists state mandated health insurance on his constituents.

LOL... Dig this dude. WTF is he getting at exactly? That Paul is an economic isolationist, or that the GOP should be?

If it fails, it will be led by economic issues. As seen by the fact that Obama, himself, backed down from protectionism (in my view the only thing he has gotten right so far) i.e., the “buy America” provision of the stimulus, this issue would be an easy sell for mainstream Republicans. In fact, with enough weight to damage the Paulnuts. When the misery index reaches the point where people act to reject socialism, they will not pour fuel on the smoldering economy.

As I said in the comments there, their criticisms of Ron Paul are just really hard to take seriously on face value. Does Allahpundit seriously, at this point, still not know the difference between isolationism and non-interventionism? Does he seriously think Ron Paul has a "blame America first" foreign policy?

These clueless neocons will never get it. They've been led too far off track through endless propaganda.

And "taking over the GOP" is going to work how, again?

And "taking over the GOP" is going to work how, again?

Did you see the write up that said that, for the first time in years, CPAC was filled with a lot more young people than old folks?

If you read the comments, most people are actually rather receptive.

It's sure as heck working in NC. I dunno about the rest of y'all but rather than sitting and bitching and doing nothing; we DID it here. We organized it, and it's working. I estimate that 40% of the NCGOP will be in Ron Paul hands in 3 months, with at least another 25% of the establishment voting with us simply by virtue of holding the controlling voting block.

In 2 years, we will own maybe 60% of the NC GOP outright.

And it's not taking 'over' the GOP, it's taking 'back.' There are still many Robert Taft and Barry Goldwater republicans active in the party begging for reinforcements to come help. we came, and now we are prospering.

Y'all could have done it too. This was THE moment. 2009 was the year the GOP was weakest and most susceptible. We seized it, and it worked; spectacularly. Y'all moaned, groaned, bitched and did nothing; and now the moment has passed, and all you can do is bitch about the ones who did it ant it worked??

C'mon A-F you are better than this.

When are we going to see that REFRESHING here at home again?? What good is doing on foreign soil while the "motherland" is over-run and obliterated.

Yep. A conservative, anti-war GOP would really have mass appeal. I think Americans are about fed-up with war mongers.

You, and the rest are right Gunny.

Pardon my sour grapes moment.

I'm feeling a little pissy right now, one of the few Republicans that I worked for and voted for in 2008 at the state level here in NH, the only Senate co sponsor of NH HCR - 6 (10th Amendment state sovereignty bill) just resigned after his third DWI arrest.

So my apologies if I look at them all as a bunch of crooked whores and not worth dealing with at any level.

You can't see the Liberty Forest for the trees, friend. Allow me to connect some dots.

The United States Marine Corps is the first line of defense for the US Constitution. That is not what it always is, but that is it's intent. As a US Marine, I developed an unapologetically extremist view on the sanctity of the US Constitution to our nation.

Carrying that forward into life, and being inspired into statesmanship by Ron Paul; I am taking my passion for the Constitution into public service starting with the GOP 2nd District Chair in North Carolina.

I will pour my blood, sweat, and tears into upholding and defending the US Constitution in our day - to the death if I have to - and I am starting by holding 2 to 4 years of high GOP office dedicating my whole existence to seeking out and recruiting principled constitutionalists to run for every office from Dog Catcher to Congressman, and Senators.

After working my district (10 counties, mind you) after working my district HARD to dig up Constitutionalists for 4 years from among the grassroots (we really are everywhere, you know), I will be running myself.

My immediate goal will be my state assembly; where I can help craft and pass sovereignty resolutions like Tennessee, or even legislation protecting our citizen's right to bear arms against Federal intrusions. Once we have passed that danger, then I will probably run for US Congress; seeking a public mandate for what I am calling (working title): "Constitution Reboot 2020"

I am calling my policy "Constitutional Originalism" and I am calling my 'brand' American Originalism. When I describe myself, I will say, "I am an American Originalist."

http://rightflank.blogspot.com/2009/02/constitution-reboot-2020-i-am-american.html

I will use the same drive and determination that pushed me to be the kind of Marine my CO recommended for OCS, picking up rank and taking unprecedented leadership positions for my rank during my service; toward relentlessly pursuing the restoration of honor for our US Constitution back in the halls of Congress and the White House.

And, should every worst-case scenario that you or I can ever imagine should come to pass, then I will stand in the streets up to my knees in blood, take up my rifle and my bayonet and fight back against the darkness to my last breath.

So it's happening now, RIGHT now, that the tree is being refreshed; and should the axe-man come for the tree to take it away forever, friend; then he will have to come through me.

it's beyond understandable. You can only spend so long on the front lines without getting hit. It's really just a question of time and math. Fortunately for America I know your character; the steam will vent and you will soldier on. The monkeys will still sit on the sidelines flinging poo while we save the nation; but in the end we will have done, and been, right.

Damn, I'm hoping so Gunny.

Ready to limber up the checkbook for Rand, hope that pans out.

Meantime, on to Appleseed on 19 April and rally (pay attention NH folks) for passage of NH HCR 6, Concord, 4 March.

Heh (http://hotair.com/archives/2009/02/28/video-coulter-at-cpac/):

I tuned in halfway through, caught a bunch of well-delivered one-liners, and stuck around to the end of the Q&A to hear her tell Obama he’s kidding himself if he thinks we can win in Afghanistan. Evidently we’re the anti-war party now.

Ann Coulter is a Paultard now! ;) He's catching on, I'm telling ya!

Where was it (during the primaries) when she said she was afraid if she listened to RP long enough, he'd convince her on foreign policy too? Fait accompli!

I remember that fondly.

She recently said that he's the guy for 2012. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPygNYXXQGk

I saw this coming: by the time 4 years is up, the foreign policy differences between the Paul supporters and the old GOP will be essentially a non-issue.

I think that's true! It's the Dems who are the original nation-builders and foreign interventionists anyway. It's awesome when RP reminds the GOP that GWB was opposed to nation-building and policing the world in 2000.

It must have killed Allahpundit to hear that from AC, after having trashed Paul's "isolationism" yesterday. The hotairists' cognitive dissonance is strong in that thread too, and are trying to rationalize her comments now. Always entertaining!

Ann was on Fox this morning, and the newcasters asked her about Mitt, about Gingrich, about Huckabee, but notabaly not about Paul. He didn't even ask, "anyone else that I missed?" They didn't want to give her that window to answer, "You should have heard Ron Paul's speech".

Yes, but they supported McCain while she didn't. Allahpundit is an athiest but she's a Christian....HotAir.com was originally supposed to have a lot of video content too, but that fell apart pretty quickly.
