The Seattle Tea Party went really well.

It took place across from Westlake Center in Downtown. A smart choice as there is always quite a bit of foot traffic due to the central location. In the park is a concrete platform with roof, designed for public use. The speakers/organizers young women, let fly some brilliant oratory. Given that we were in downtown Seattle, you had to stop for a moment and take in the entirety of the situation, anarchists in black hoodies grobbled by from time to time mumbling something about socialism, but mostly under their breath. The speakers spoke well.

There was a large turnout. The entire open public area was full. A nice touch included the distribution of tea bags with patriotic and anti-obama, anti-socialism messages stapled to them. They were handed out to the crowd.

The crowd had folks of all ages. Young kids thru college age and older to retired. The speakers made it very clear that we would no longer stand for the destruction of our country. That we will do whatever it takes to restore Liberty. When this came across, the crowd cheered loudly.

The main speaker said :"...I am not going to take it anymore..." To which someone in the crowd replied : "neither are we..." This brought loud cheers and praises. Many folks carried Gadsen and Sons of Liberty Flags.

The contents of the discussion would not at all be unfamiliar to Conservatives and Libertarians. The speakers also mentioned the Committees of Safety, which many folks do not realize has been recently restored.

They also encourage all Liberty minded folks to get involved and to form fraternity.

I particularly enjoyed when the speaker said "No more socialism!" and the cheers were quite loud. Another moment stood out to me when an African Immigrant (US citizen) was cheering along and yelled out in heavy accent "No to tyranny!" He spoke to those around him saying that he had lived with his family under Idi Amin and that he knows what it is like. He also spoke of how he loves the US and the opportunities it has given him.

You would think there would have been communist counter protesters and such. Most disruptions could be characterized as vanity. In fact there was probably 2 and they were less than notable. One man yelled that this was Bush's fault (from the sidelines), another man returned "He isn't President any more asshole!" The man said Obama was trying to dig us out, to which many had a reply. My favorite came from a little girl who yelled back "Obama is digging our grave thats what he digs" She had to be about 10 or so. Quite impressive! This made my vulgar retort seem quite ineffective, but of course the man was shut down by counter comments from all around rather quickly and departed with a look of defeat and stupidity.

Another highlight was when the speaker called Patty Murray's office and mentioned that she had a message from her constituency. She then held her cellphone out and the crowd screamed boos and rage at her cellphone.

I would recommend getting in touch with the Sons and Daughters of Liberty in the Seattle Area (http://redistributingknowledge.blogspot.com/). We can no longer afford to be complacent and allow apathy to prevail. If you had any doubts about turnout, they can be eased. The turnout was fantastic! Great to get involved, as many Conservatives are new to protesting, this is a great way to learn. To be honest I would not have expected so many to show up. When can you ever name a time when folks, in Downtown Seattle would sing the national anthem outloud? Today was one. This is a great sign.

The consensus of the crowd: revolution is brewing. The spirit lives!

BTW, where were all the RP supporters? Sitting on their ass? I think events like this are put up or shut up moments...

We have to make sure neo-cons stay out of this movement.
