Senator Gravel has a very pleasant conversation with some Ron Paul supporters. What would the implications of a Gravel endorsement, and is this possible?

I wish I could say it'd be signifigant, but I can't. I seriously doubt it'd happen anyways. I think Gravel is in for the win, and I hope he stays that way so that he can keep shouting down the BS spewed by the Democrat elite.

I may disagree with Gravel on some big issues, but he is an honest and respectable statesman akin to Dr. Paul.

I don't see it happening until after Paul is nominated, or until after both Gravel and Kucinich drop out of the Democratic Primary. If Gravel drops out but Kucinich stays in Gravel will likely endorse Kucinich, and I have a feeling Kucinich would not drop out until after the Dem nominee is decided.

I think he's trying to buy into the RP publicity, to get it going for himself.

He can endorse anyone he wants. The endorsement police aren't going to knock down his door or anything. :)

I hope he gets some of it, the man is doing us a service in the Democratic Party debates by going after their front-runners. Unless an act of God causes things to go otherwise, he will not prevail, but the message he instills into those Liberal Democrats during those debates will be invaluable when Paul faces his CFR approved opponent in the general election.

I'd like to see it regardless of who is nominated... this would be a pretty cool debate. Semi-socialist vs. Semi-libertarian, it's an ideological debate that could be really interesting.

Before you discredit the debate I want you to think about how amazing this could be. We haven't seen a debate in this country that was truly right vs. left, especially when the two parties are bickering about war. Both of these candidates won't need to discuss that since they're both anti-war, anti-IRS, and anti-military industrial complex... it really comes down to the two ideologies. I don't think I've ever seen a pair of candidates discuss the philosophy behind their stances so this could be pretty incredible.

Please consider signing the petition. Don't think about how this will effect the election and instead think about how it's a chance to educate people. We aren't going to change the world by discussing issues; we need to get to the heart of why we feel the way we do.

I respect Gravel. If I had them, I would donate any leftover funds to him (after my $2300 to Ron Paul).

If nothing else, he serves as a lie detector for the other Dem's.

I don't like the idea of RP debating Gravel, it makes it look like he's on the same tier and he is not.

And yes, it would help if he endorsed Paul for SURE. There are a lot of democrats looking for a candidate that is anti-war and if they hear a democrat is endorsing a republican it will make their head snap to take a double look at Ron Paul and see what he's all about. There are still a lot of people out there that have no idea Ron Paul is even running for president, never mind a republican candidate that is anti-war.

Agree

I like Mr. Gravel, but there is no gain for RP to debate him. Media would spin that as the two "crazy" (not crazy) guys meet to debate, if they even mentioned it at all.

Gravel is a good guy.

He said he liked Ron Paul until seeing his stance on gays in the military in the 2nd/3rd(?) debate but that was before Ron Paul expounded on it at the Google talk in a way that made more sense (though I don't know if Gravel would be any more happy with it...)

As for an endorsement, it will make little difference. The people who throw all their support to Gravel would likely consider Kucinich first before Paul because of socio-economic issue that differ significantly.
