My *brother* has to buy stuff from the campaign store for me. I can't... already maxed. That's the one nice thing about buying elsewhere, no limits!

I hope that figure doesn't include the take from the meetup competition.

Meetup competition ended last week...so probably not.

this is good news...but we must assume that the numbers are still exaggerated. i would love to see $7 or 8 million raised this quarter, but i won't get my hopes up and keep telling people to donate whatever they can.

Good, if we can keep this up maybe another 1 to 1.5 million by the end of Q3. That would be a great sum to add the amount he has already recieved. Hopefully we can raise somewhere in the ballpark of 4 to 6 million this quarter.

I sent 100.00 yesterday. I think that's my fifth 100.

Do you mean when we max out the 2300.00 limit we can't buy from the store anymore?

Sure you can. Cash donations are different from buying swag.

I don't think so? Obama's store had to count purchases toward the limit. And I added some absurd number of yard signs to my cart yesterday, and it told me I couldn't order more than $2300 worth of merch.

Make that 30th of September, unless somebody added an extra day to the month and I missed the memo.

Then get your, ahem, brother to buy them. JK.

So you tried to buy more than $2300 worth of merch from the Obama store? What in God's name for?

I'm just thinking there is no way the RP2008 database can interface with the store's to add your cash contributions to your purchases and determine if you've maxed out...no way. So if a person wants to buy under $2300 worth of RP swag apart from the contributions they've made in the past, that person could probably do so. But maybe you're right and that would certain put the kibosh on overspending. Thank goodness for McCain Feingold or political contributions would be out of control.

better get brother to donate full $2,300 and buy the merchandise from 3rd party sources

haha, HELL NO. I read an article about it a while back. He initially hadn't been counting the sales and then got slapped on the wrist for it.

My *brother* placed a big order from the RP store tonight though. :D

While they aren't cross-referencing their own contributor databases, they WILL be reporting sales as donations to the FEC. Sooo come the end of the quarter, if too much $ shows up under one name, I'm guessing the excess amounts are to be returned to the donor? I'm not sure how that works.

excess of $2300 from one person goes to the general election fund.

excess of $4600 goes back to the donor, I believe.

actually purchases from the campaign store count as contributions , says so right on the storefront

"Welcome to the Official Ron Paul 2008 Presidential Campaign Merchandise Store. An individual may contribute up to $2,300 per election. This limit includes contributions (as purchases) made through the official Ron Paul 2008 Store. If you have already made the maximum contribution and would like Ron Paul merchandise, please contact Mark Elam at 1-877-RON-2008"

Slapped on the wrist?! If it were RP supporters, they'd have been thrown in a FEMA camp as an enemy combatants.

My brother buys RP stuff third party but I - I mean he - does like those bumper stickers...

Obama, Hillary, Rudy and Mitt will get to keep the overpayments with no penalty. Ron's overdonated supporters will be sent to Gitmo. It's in the FEC rules.

but we need to really start ramping this fundraising thing up to close the quarter with a bang. I think we can raise $30 to 40 million by the time we hit New Hampshire. The campaign is just starting to hit critical mass.

500k each week is only 6 Million for the quarter. That's a nice sum but hardly amazing.

My point is that it's not that much and we need to keep donating.

Guess I'll have an army of authorized users by the time this thing is over then. :D

I keep trying not to get my expectations too high, but threads like this make it difficult.

We need to keep our feet planted firmly on the ground. lol.

Wait, I just realized this was $500,000 from last week. Ron just hit California this week and today, Saturday is the last day of this week. I think he did a minimal $500,000 if not $600,000 this week.
