In regards to them helping their mother around the house, I divulged to my two sons how picking up, taking out, and emptying the garbage and then getting out of her way is the lazy man's way of making any woman happy. It is one of those "eekie" chores like working on the greasy car that most women hate doing but most men thrive on. By and large, men like living in a dump after all.
As this system works in most relationships, so it once worked with government. In fact, at one time, the biggest expense cutting into any city budget was garbage pickup. The cities would pick up the garbage twice a week even.
But times have changed. Now many governments tax the people to get into the convention center hotel business in an irrational attempt to attract a limited number of conventions. The same goes for taxing the people in order to give tax breaks out in an atempt to attract a limited number of relocating corporations.
As any smart farmer will tell you, taxing the people is the same as taxing potential small businesses. Small businesses are the seeds planted that will grow into major corporations tomorrow.
