ORIGINAL CAPTION: My son in law today saw about 20 army guys with full combat gear walking down the street in Hayden, Idaho. He took pictures and asked them what they were doing. ‘They said they were just training. One of the troopers was carrying a saw or squad automatic weapon. Is this just training or is it getting the people used to seeing troops patroling the streets. My son in law lives about a mile from the reserve unit at the airport. my son in law was kind of surprised to see those guys. I”ve lived in the Hayden area most of my life and never saw any patrols. Maybe we should start fighting fire with fire. Get a local militia together and go out and flex some muscle. No need for a fire fight, etc... But let them know the states do have militias and if they want to start coming in against the people, let them know the people are willing to fight back.

He's full of shit. There won't be some military coup--everyone loves Obama! Not only that but that would be too anti-American for Americans. Does anyone here actually believe something like this would stand in America? You see the backlash from just the idea of TARP? Imagine the backlash from a military takeover.

Americans aren't completely hopeless. You forget we have far more liberties than people in Western Europe, and we know when enough is enough. You all put too much faith in conspiracy theories and speculation, as well as planning that everyone will be asleep at the wheel until the very last moment when it's too late. People recycle their governments from time to time...a one world government or a military government in the United States or the World would not last long as it would be unmanageable by management.

You really think the thousands that were killed or had their lifestyle, property, and way of life completely destroyed by the Nazis would get any comfort from the fact that "world domination doesn't work"? The millions under the soviets? Any of the groups you mentioned?


Just because they won't take over the world in the long run doesn't mean we have nothing to worry about, plenty of lives will most likely be destroyed in the process.

Sure history says it won't work in the long run, but there is no promise that it will happen in your lifetime, your lifetime is not the long run. Go tell the Palestinians they have nothing to worry about because their tyranny will be "ousted naturally".

It proves they were training in the street, yes. And thats all it proves. I doubt this is the first time national guardmen have trained in the street. they also have done operations in the streets like katrina and the la riots.

I don't know about Idaho, but they were going to do some exercises in Idaho dealing with gathering information about and subduing a "suspected arms dealer."

I think it would be a good idea to have a crowd with cameras following them everywhere they go, watching and taking pictures and video. The reason--if the crowd is ever questioned--would be that since the troops (our troops) are training in our neighborhood, they are acknowledging that something could happen in our neighborhood. It would be quite silly of us not to prepare as well, since the proposed threat affects us in our own neighborhoods. Who better to teach us than the national guard?
