Probably because the fiasco is in the spot light right now. If they waited a month it probably wouldn't have the same impact arguably....

There's one here in Lansing. The Freepers are organizing it though, and the thread under the post that that announces it there is a blurb that says "Be advised: A bunch of anti-war whackos apparently meet every Friday at noon, by the statue of Austin Blair (also in Capitol front but closer to streetside). They all dress in black. They are the enemy! MAybe we can have some "fun" with them afterward!"
