Slumdog Millionaire was great, possibly inspiring and moving.

Bobby Jindal--not so much.

Wait, what? He's a horrible speaker but I heard some limited government, lower taxes, fewer regulations and more self-reliance principles in his speech. While I didn't agree 100%, it was a hell of a lot better than say, McCain or some of the other fake republicans who only discovered any semblance of principle after Obama was elected.

Sheesh people, can we please quit throwing the baby out with the bathwater??? I'm THRILLED to hear someone at least pay lip service to some of the principles I believe in.

Baby steps, baby.

I lasted a couple of minutes, decided I didn't want the used car he was selling, switched it off. Wound up listening to him again on NPR this morning when the alarm went off. Yeesh.

You need to brush up on your birds and bees. "Lip service", as you call it, does not produce babies. Or bathwater either.

I remember Reagan. He talked in a pleasing manner, but he didn't do $#!+ for our freedoms. Took many away, in fact. And he didn't do $#!+ about fiscal responsibility except create a lot of hot air in empty defense of the concept.

I'm too old to go through that again.

Look, I know it's just words. I lived through Reagan too, saw through it all. I watch what they DO, not what they say.

Maybe I'm not being clear: I think some people are looking at this all wrong.

I subscribe to principles, not men. I am frankly sick of the Reagan worship. And Jindal doesn't float my boat either. I'm most certainly not suggesting that anyone start a Jindal love-fest. I am suggesting that if the average dumbass Joe the plumber hears these principles, and says to himself, "by darn, this makes sense!", it's might start them down the path of wanting more freedom.

This is the same way I feel about Glenn Beck. He's not my cup of tea and I don't trust him and I think he owes us and Ron Paul an apology. But I'm ignoring that at the moment because of the number of people he's awakening. In just the past couple of weeks, I've personally had several people tell me that I've been right all along, but they had to hear it from Beck.

Point is, I don't care how they hear it, just that they hear it.

I got through all of it, but I felt dirty... oh god did I feel dirty. That was the most plastic speech I have ever seen in my life. It felt condescending and pathetic. He tried making excuses for the republican (neocon) party and was clear that he was polishing a turd. My socialist leaning roommate was angry and ill after his speech. I felt embarassed to be a republican even though I am a Ron Paul supporter.

I kept trying to think of a way to describe the way I felt during the speech and the best I could come up with is that I felt like a child and he was a dirty old man offering candy so he could molest me in his van down by the river.

Someone should teach him how to read a teleprompter without moving his eyes so obviously. If Jindal really is the GOP's savior then stick a fork in the GOP. A guy that only has his skin color (same as Obama's...coincidence? I think not.) going for him and a neo-con "lite" rhetoric won't get very far. Just another empty suit.

His tone of voice is what pissed me off the most. He sounded like some therapist talking to a mental patient. The content of his speech was crap as well.

Ron Paul should make his own response to both Obama's and Jindal's speeches.

Talk about trying to put Lipstick on another GOP Pig.... younger skinnier Pig.

Are these fossils in the RNC truly this stupid? Jindal has no command of speech, but look at the bright side neither did McCain.

The RNC/GOP presidential game plan #1 rule: Find a puppet dumb enough to wear any lipstick we put on them.

I had never heard Jindal speak before this, and I expected at the very least a smooth talker.

Really? This is what we got? The guy is painful to watch - if the GOP think he's their savior they are seriously fucked.
