ACORN members are launching a Homesteading effort as part of ACORN's comprehensive foreclosure campaign. ACORN is working with its membership and activists around the country to build "Home Defender Teams." These teams will be prepared to mobilize on short notice to peacefully help defend a family's right to stay in their homes until a fair solution to the crisis is put into place by the new Administration. We are recruiting allies and elected officials to support our efforts and call for a full and comprehensive solution to this crisis.

Are you willing to be a Home Defender in your community?

If you live in one of these Tier 1 cities, your help is needed with the initial roll-out of the Homesteading campaign. Trainings will take place the second week of February and the kick-off events will be held the 3rd week of February.

Tuscon, Ariz.
Oakland, Calif.
Los Angeles, Calif.
Contra Costa County, Calif.
Orlando, Fla.
Baltimore, Md.
New York, N.Y.
Houston, Texas

These Tier 2 cities will conduct training and kick-offs in the weeks following the Tier 1 events. (If you live outside these areas we need your help as well! We are creating Home Defenders Toolkits that people can use locally to save the homes in their communities.)

San Mateo County, Calif.
Denver, Colo.
Bridgeport, Conn.
Wilmington, Del.
Broward County, Fla.
Boston, Mass.
Flint, Mich.
Detroit, Mich.
Minneapolis, Minn.
Raleigh, N.C.
Durham, N.C.
Albany, N.Y.
Cincinnati, Ohio
Cleveland, Ohio
Pittsburgh, Pa.
Dallas, Texas

If you live somewhere else, you can still help!

Please sign up below and an ACORN organizer from your area will contact you with details of how this campaign will roll out and how you can help stop the foreclosure crisis in your community and nationwide.

They believe a house is a right. There was an acorn women on Fox Business who basically said they were taking over the houses until Obama's plan goes into effect. These people seriously think he's going to do something. :P

So basically, individual investors who MIGHT have been willing to step up and BUY one of these foreclosed homes is at risk from Obama's buddies at ACORN now, and will have to factor in the potential additional cost and hassle of getting the prior owner out?

AND HOW MUCH MONEY DID ACORN GET IN THE STIMULUS?

Once they gave those who could not afford a house and charge cards to juice its not so easy to separate them from the new "right". Good luck to them, revolt as you see fit. Cannot see too many constables risking life and limb for the JPM's of the world. You want them out, do it yourself will be the motto.

$4,000,000,000 I believe is the figure.

If you are served an eviction notice, law enforcement should evict you, and certainly those unauthorized by the deed-holder who are on the property should be promptly removed and cited for trespassing.

I might just sign up to do it. Then I'll call in a trespassing complaint to the police just before they go to a home.

Someone should do drive by stink bombings of these people. The Anti-Home Defense Squad! :)

Nope what will happen is they will be seen as saviors of the people. The cops will kill a couple of them and it will start a socialist revolution or at least a revolt... get ready.

And I forgot to add. That would force Obamas hand into really nationalizing banks and/or mortgages.

I just can't fathom how investors or potential new buyers could put their private capital into foreclosures in light of these..."defender teams."

The best part is, they're being funded by the Federal Government to break the law. Not that that's ever been a problem for them, though. :)

if the IRS can take your home because you owe them taxes you don't agree with, the opposite is true.

No one owes the IRS anything ;)

You are comparing the willful action of taking out a loan to the forced action of the income tax?
