Wow, yesterday I checked and the counter at Schiff2010 showed $1,649.

It's 8 AM on the eastern coast and it's already at $3,868.

EDIT: I see they raised the goal amount from $10,000 to $20,000.

I just sent $10 through paypal.

Whats his foreign policy like? I'm guessing hes a non-interventionalist like Ron Paul, right?

I think Schiff is pretty much Ron Paul 20 years younger

I'd imagine we could expect a "common sense" foreign policy...

I think, regardless of the outcome with this "draft" effort, these organizers have been doing a decent job and $20, to see what they do with it, is fair game :)

Is he actually running, though?

"Thank you. Your donation has been accepted."

Just threw $20.10 into the mix. If he runs this could be like a mini RP event :)

I agree. I sent in $20 earlier as well.

As I pointed out in a different post about the Schiff MoneyBomb, I would suggest to anyone who can afford to donate but is hesitant to do so, think of it this way: Even a $5 contribution helps boost the sheer number of people who have proven they're willing to donate to a "Liberty" campaign.

It's all about numbers, people. If we can show that there are five or six thousand people out there (or more, hopefully) who are willing to donate small amounts time and time again, I would think it would be an encouragement for Schiff to run.

The man was Ron Paul's economic/financial consultant for Paul's 2008 campaign, and in every interview I've seen, he seems to be pretty much in line with Paul's political views as well as the financial ones.

If nothing else, he would be a BIG step up from Chris Dodd.

So... if you can afford to donate so much as a couple of bucks via PayPal.... Please do!!

Not yet, this event is for the guys trying to draft him. Schiff knows of the effort and has not discouraged it, there is a video of him talking about it. The organizers seem pretty transparent

From his email endorsement of Ron Paul

Like me, Ron Paul was against America’s decision to invade Iraq.

I've also seen him criticize the war on the financial shows.

Shiff said on the one of the Fox Panel shows that he has nothing to do with this.

its an independent draft from grassroots support. Much like what occurred to convince Ron Paul to run. Schiff hasnt ruled it out but is currently on the wire. If he doesn't run, funds go toward similar movements of liberty candidates or the cfl

Schiff has definitely been dropping some hints that he could be persuaded to run, if it looks like a groundswell of supporters want him to run.

I'm a little bothered that they upped their goal. If you set a goal for 10,000 and raise 12,000, people will report it as, "They raised even more than they had hoped for!"

If you lift the goal to 20,000, and raise the same 12,000, they report it as "His supporters raised little more than half of their goal."

I'm just not convinced they'll actually get very close to 20,000... and then it looks like a failure.

So close to the 10k mark. Im not sure why they did 20k either, but heres hopeful the influx of the working class with no access to computers hops on after 5 and boosts it.

Well, I'm glad to say I was totally wrong on the raising the bar to $20,000 thing. Impressive.
