It tracks the total donation amount and recent donors much like the Ron Paul 2008 Money Bombs of the past.

Well by the looks of it he did decide to run :)
His website does not seem to give a decent summary of his views, however. The fact that he is using the reEVOLlution logo is a pretty good sign but I will need to know a bit more than that!
These days are really hard times to be donating money to people who want to be politicians but I think I'll still give him just a few bucks for the right cause.

I would donate, but can't really afford to at the moment. :(
So it's a "yes" in spirit, I guess... :P

On the contrary, he has announced that he has no intention of running but won't rule it out. Schiff2010.com is a grassroots effort to draft him.

Since this is just a pledge, does the money get returned if he decides not to run? I presume the answer is yes, just wanted to confirm it. The fact is, is that Sen. Dodd probably has a stack of money in his coffers and he won't be easily beat in a consistent democratic state. We'll need at least $500,000 to even mess with Dodd (in addition to many activists) and Schiff knows this. Hence my question regarding donation reimbursal if Schiff opts out...

$500,000? Try $5,000,000 to run a legit senatorial campaign

Schiff could very easily raise 5 or 10 million. Not to mention that he could just use 5 or 10 million of his own cash to do it.

Or is it still under the status as a site to persuade him to run.

My understanding is that this is still a "draft Peter" operation. I am very fine with that. I think it is telling that on Peter's Europac.net website he links to a newhaven newspaper article about the bomb. To me that indicates he is at least curious about this possibility.

As of Wednesday, he said on Andrew Napolitano's web show that he had no intention to run, but kind of bashfully avoided giving any statement saying that he wouldn't run. I think he even specifically said he wouldn't rule it out, but I can't quite remember. He's clearly considering it, but at this point the Schiff2010 site is totally unaffiliated with him, just trying to convince him that he has the support necessary to run.

Really? If thats the case, yeah I think Peter is going to evaluate the effectiveness of the Money Bomb and see how much support he really does have before he decides to run.
Be prepared, if we don't come close to the $10,000 he might not run.
However, Seeing how he's already raised $2,500 already before the day of the bomb, I think he'll definitely get the 10 grand.

Today (Friday) it's a pledge to donate tomorrow (Saturday).
I'll be chipping in at least $10 in the hope he'll be convinced to run. If he doesn't, then at least the money goes towards other liberty-oriented candidates.

I'm gonna kick in. Dodd is very vulnerable right now. When the spendulous bill fails, he will be ripe for defeat by 2010.

This email confirms that you have donated $27.00 USD to PEAC PAC (schiff2010@gmail.com) using PayPal.
This credit card transaction will appear on your bill as "PAYPAL *SCHIFF2010".
:)
Counter needs to update total quicker though...

Thanks for the information although it probably won't stop any of the speculation or rumors. I remember back when Ron Paul said he had "no intention" of running as an independent. :)

That site won't let me donate? It keeps saying that I am giving an invalid email address and it is my paypal address? It has a - in it and I think their setup is rejecting it because of that?

Well my email does have it in it and I have had it for about 10 years and it is my paypal address. That is what I think the problem is? When they first started that site I pledged and used that email to make my pledge and that worked? I use it all the time and this is my first rejection of it?

The site is a "draft Schiff" movement, being run by people who are encouraging Mr. Schiff to run.
They had been pushing for pledges for the last month.
Today, the 21st of February is the actual "donate" day. If you click on the "donate" link you'll actually be sending money.
Personally, I just sent in $20. It's not much, but I figure the most important thing right now is to demonstrate the NUMBER of different people willing to kick in to the campaign. Imagine a mailing list of, say, 2,000 people who are willing to put their money where their mouth is. That's definitely worth something. Also, keep in mind that Obama raised millions from people whose donations were less than $50, and so did Ron Paul.
A base of a few thousand people who are willing to give small amounts repeatedly can make a huge difference in an election.
Regarding what the PAC plans to do with the money they're currently raising, I quote from their own site:
Where Does the Money Go?
Thus far, we have asked and received invaluable help, both monetarily and in donated time, from PEAC members and supporters. In order to run a serious campaign, here is a small list of expenses that we are and will be incurring:
1) Advertising costs for commercials, print media, online.
2) Grassroots materials for signs, canvassing, flyers, and other handouts.
3) Conventions, and forums.
4) Phone banking, polling data, and voter awareness.
5) A professional accountant
6) To provide fundraising materials for local activists to plan events of their own.
7) To sponsor events hosted by liberty minded media outlets and organizations.
8) To pay for the professional development, hosting, and other website expenses
Doesn't sound too bad to me... It was worth giving 20 of my rapidly-devaluing fiat
dollars just to give Mr. Schiff something to think about...
PLEASE, PETE!! RUN FOR SENATE!!!

i'm not sure if it will impress him but lets be honest it's not bad considering he isnt even running!! if he said he was running it would be 10x easily and i'm guessing we would raise a lot more.
so many people have said "I'll only donate if he's running..."
