Fine line--very fine line. But as a general rule, the communists (like the ones you mention) have the state take over the businesses, rather than allowing the founders to reap massive, government-enhanced profits. This is a little different from the likes of Mussolini and Hitler. Not that the unfortunates who had to live under them noticed much of an improvement...
