Good idea. We should use this thread to come up with intriguing facts.

Economic facts and statistics are much more effective to give to the masses. When it comes down to it, the average uninformed American generally does not care about anything until their wallet or purse becomes lighter and lighter.

eOs I think you have a good idea. The problem I see is that people would see a building with graffitti and continue on their way, with blinders on, until the message directly affects them. Much the same as the Ron Paul signs.

Graffiti just pisses people off. I would hope we'd have enough sense not to go there. Besides, handbills can be passed around.

How about numbers like, what does it cost the average school system to get its own citizens' tax money back? After all, most have to hire entire departments just to fill out federal paperwork. That seems like the kind of thing we want people to know about 'their' federal government.

People are already pissed about their government torturing people. That's why they elected a Democrat. Now we have a trillion dollar deficit.

Yes, complaining is the easy part. This is about getting people to act.

2008 Budget: $2.9 trillion
2008 Income Tax: $1.25 trillion

$2.9 trillion - $1.25 trillion = $1.65 trillion

1997 Budget: $1.6 trillion

Or even better...
2009 Budget: $3.1 trillion
2009 Income Tax: $1.2 trillion

$3.1 trillion - $1.2 trillion = $1.9 trillion

2001 Budget: $1.9 trillion

Could you live with the amount of government we had in 2001 in exchange for no more income tax?
